Akeen Lydell Henry died Saturday., April 21, 2012 at his residence in Sumter, SC.  Born in Sumter, County on August 22, 1989, he was the son of Janet Henry and the late Lamont McKnight.

Akeen was educated in Sumter, County Public Schools, at Kingsbury Elementary, Bates Middle School and Sumter High School.  While attending Bates Middle School, he was active on the Youth Baseball Team and the Boy's Club, but he favored Basketball the most.

Growing up as a young man, Akeen was respecful, well mannered and friendly.  A jovial person with a great smile. He was a caring and attentive father to his son, Keondre D. Henry. His mother, Janet Henry; one brother, Omar Rashard Henry of the home; three half-sisters:Jazmyne McKnight, Jamelia McKnight, Shanairia McKnight; his grandfather, Charles E. Knight, Sr; three neices: Samaria Henry, NaKyla Tomlin, Faith Henry; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
