Tyler's 14th birthday is tomorrow. I can hardly believe it. Yours is the day after. I remember how we would celebrate birthday week. Boy, do I remember. LOL. We are doing well, Tyler included. He is becoming quite the little man and I know you are proud. He has fond memories of you and talks of you often. Time is fleeting. I can't believe it is almost 2 years since you have passed. Sending you birthday wishes wherever you are, and hoping mom is baking you a fabulous cake. Love and miss you.

It's just a month shy of a year that you left this world for a better place and I can't believe it. Some days it feels like yesterday and other days it feels like forever. There are days that I smile thinking of fond memories and then there are days that I cry at the drop of a hat. Tyler and I talk and laugh about your humorous antics. Your photos still hang on the walls and we've hung your Christmas stocking as we will continue to do every year. You have been placed on the mantle where I believe you watch over us. Tyler and I continue to live our lives, but you are always with us everyday in our hearts. We love you and miss you. I only hope that somehow you know that. XXXOOO

My deepest sympathy to all of the O'Leary family. I remember all of the times we had together at Dewey Beach and Alan would always make me laugh. And he and I had the greatest conversations in the middle of the dairy department in Giant Eagle. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

He is so special and has a sweet spirit. He gave the best hugs with the cutest laugh that made you feel warm and fuzzy all over. Loved family and friends. We will never forget him and the love that he passed around. We are better because we knew and loved him. Into God's arms he rests from his labors. He is with his parents too. How wonderful is that!!!!!!!!!!!

I only met Alan once, last Christmas. But, Alan really impressed me as a good soul! He was very upbeat and friendly. Rest in Peace, Alan.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of Alan. May your hearts find peace with the knowledge that he now resides in the house of our Lord and has found everlasting comfort in His arms. A life taken way too young.

Frick Park

Many years ago, probably around 1970, Colleen and I had the brilliant idea to take Alan and my brother Ernie to Frick Park.  We set out walking from home and it was a beautiful, warm day.  We got to the top of the park on Braddock Ave and decided to walk the trail to the bottom.  We got to the bottom of the park and went through the soccer fields to the stream.  The boys played in the stream for a bit and everyone decided it was time to head home.  Some how we got turned around and followed the creek in the wrong direction and ended up at the bottom of Commercial Ave.  When we finally realized where we were and that we had a bit of a walk to get home, both Alan and Ernie threw themself on the ground, flat on their backs and refused to move swearing that they could not move another foot.  Eventually they got up but not after a good bit of grouching and complaining.  It ended up being a great day for all!
