From Uncle Kofi Noi (Samuel Okwei-Nortey)
I had seen Chris grow up to enter the tertiary education and I was very proud of him.
He was a quiet person, very shy, soft spoken and genuinely inquisitive in his quest to know more. I remember him a while back before he did his A levels, he invited me into his room and after we had prayed and discussed a few things from the Bible and some world events, he asked me what I think about his subject choices. We were able to consider carefully and meticulously the prospects and opportunities for the future. It was not my position to convince him to change his course, but I was very honoured that he would confide in me to seek my humble opinion.
I can surely say that Chris was a very respectful person, and also respectable gentleman, full of smiles and genuine concern for others welfare.
One funny thing I had been wondering, when I compared Christopher's height with Cyril's when they were very young, was that he was very petit, while his brother was quite lanky. He was patient, and felt that his time would come when he would shoot up, as if he had a destiny in deciding when he would gain his height. Not to be outdone, as the years went by it was wonderful to see him claw back on some of us, and shot pass me in height. This showed his belief in the God he put his trust in - not a complaining type, but patient and full of faith.
Chris you did grow to become a marvellous example for any person to emulate. I was proud of you and all that you achieved and continued to be thankful for.
My regret is that because of our schedules, we couldn't meet as often as should have been, but it was satisfying to hear about your progress from your dear mum, who was proud of you.
Your are now gone to the place of no return, but your cousins and I are filled with much joy, hope, confidence that that the One you fell in love with while here, is glad that you completed your work and has welcomed you. Rest in His bosom until we meet again, dear one.
Adios!!
