In July of 1979 I met the person that would turn out to be one of the most important people in my life. This wonderful person is none other than Alice. Upon graduating from high school the following year I was welcomed into their home as one of the family. Thanks to Frank and Alice I finally had a chance at a normal home after spending 12 years at Childhaven in Cullman. This came about because of another wonderful lady affectionally known to the family as Gran. Because of these two wonderful people I have two families. And two wonderful sisters Katina and Chantel. Also, cannot forget Mel and Tod. Even though I left their home two years later and moved to Cullman to stay with my real Mom, Alice and I continued to have a strong relationship. She was always ready with a kind word or if needed a nudge back in the right direction when things seemed to be getting out of hand. Even when I left to join the military and moved to Texas she was always there. She did get to meet my daughter Madyson only once and that is one regret that I did not get back to Alabama more often to see her.  I just want to say Mom I love and miss you terribly.
