My husband Andy and I worked with Almo at Auten Poultry and Food service for several years, he was a driver initially. After his knees got to the point that they didn't take climbing in and out of those trucks all day long out delivering, he was moved into transportation and handled routing and schedules and such. Every afternoon he, myself and Gayle Edwards routed trucks. We talked about this when I visited him in the hospital back in the fall. I said that if I had a quarter for every time he cracked me up I would be a rich woman! He would have all of us laughing so hard we would have tears rolling down our face! Times moved on, Auten sold, Almo retired but always remembered to stop in and see us every now and then. It was always such a treat to catch up with him. My husband Andy passed away and I knew Almo was pretty sick at the time, I didn't think I would see him and Ms Loretta that night at visitation but sure enough before it was over there they were! He was using a cane at the time not getting around too good but he told me he wouldn't have missed it for the world! What a reunion that must have been in heaven when Almo got there Saturday! I'm sure gonna miss you Ole Buddy, but I'll see you on the other side. Love you Mo-Mo! T.
