Mr. Alvin Jenkins of Baltimore,Maryland formerly of Alexander City,Alabama died December 16,2011

Mr, Alvin "Al" Davis Jenkins, the seventh of sixteen children, was born
into this life on June 5, 1930 in Alexander City, Alabama to the late Mr, Mance
Jenkins and Mrs, Alma Johnson Jenkins.

Alvin received his education in the public schools of Alexander City, Alabama
where he participated in many sports including, but not limited to football,
basketball and softball.

Alvin accepted Christ at an very early age at Hillabee Church of God and
worshipped at various local churches throughout Baltimore, Maryland.

Alvin served his country for eleven years as a member of the U.S. Army
and was awarded various medals awards and citations. After his discharge from
the military at Fort Meade, he made his principle residence in Baltimore, Maryland.

He was also a devoted member and officer for more than twenty years in
the American Legion Post Number 263 in Catonsville, Maryland, He was also a
member of the Masonic Temple.

Alvin worked as a Bus Operator for the Maryland Transit Authority (MTA)
where he retired with more than twenty years of service, He continued to work
part time as a Counter for MTA until his health began to fail him in June 2011.

Our heavenly Father, who allowed Alvin an earthly visit with us, saw fit to
summon him home on Friday, December 16,2011 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore,
Maryland.

Alvin was preceded in death by his Father, Mother and nine Siblings.
Alvin leaves to cherish his memory, celebrate his life and a legacy of
love: his devoted wife of fifty-seven years, Ms. Willa Dean Jenkins. Three brothers:
Mr. Lonnie (Vercie) Jenkins of Cleveland, OH, Mr. Jesse (Barbara) Jenkins
of Atlanta, GA, Rev. Tommy Jenkins of Alexander City, AL. Three sisters: Ms.
Edlean Givins of Los Angeles, CA, Ms, Marynell Jenkins of Atlanta, GA, Ms.
Vontwill Macklin of Louisville, KY, Ten sisters-in-law: Ms, Lovenia Jenkins of Alexander
City, AL, Ms, Elouise Jenkins of Detroit, Ml, Ms. Emma Jenkins and Ms.
Lena Jenkins of Cleveland, OH, Ms, Martha (Melvin) Houston of Chicago, lL, Ms.
Ethel Bell Patton of Decatur, GA, Ms. Carolyn Stewart of Atlanta, GA, Ms. Rosie
Clark of Wadley, AL, Ms. Dorothy Allen of Tampa, FL, Ms. Bessie Allen of Stone
Mountain, GA, Special cousins: Mr. John L. and Minister Minnie Barnes Slaugher
of Baltimore, MD. A Spiritual son, Mr, Ray A. Barnes of Baltimore, MD, A host of
nieces, nephews, other relatives and special and supportive "buddies" and
friends of Baltimore, MD.

Funeral service for Mr. Alvin Jenkins will be Thursday, December 29,2011 at Miracle Baptist Church at 12:00noon. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery.
