Dear Papa,
I could not have asked for a better neighbor. You were always there outside ready to say hello when we got home from a long day of work & school. You were another set of eyes that checked on us when my husband was on a deployment. You were the grandpa to my daughter who’s grandparents were so far away. My daughter still asks about you often and my heart breaks each time. We love and miss you and I hope you continue to watch over and protect our family.

A Limb Has Fallen

A limb has fallen from the Family Tree.

I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me.”

Remember the best times, the laughter, the song,

The good life I lived while I was strong.

Continue my heritage; I’m counting on you,

Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through,

My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.

Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.

Continue traditions, no matter how small.

Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls.

I miss you dearly, so keep up your chin,

Until the day come we’re together again.

I am waiting for you in Heaven

You impacted my life in a profound way... How long ago was it 25+ years ago?
We sat at the round table listening to the Doctor’s words, telling us to make plans for you’re first departure... We refused to accept his prognosis...Because we prayed & had faith that God had other plans for you and so, you came back cause HE told you “Not yet...go back and tell them to get ready because what you saw was the kingdom...beautiful and glorious, but it wasn’t time yet”

You drew a picture of Heaven with your words for us...You shared your story with strangers and friends, family anyone close enough to hear...And smart enough to listen. I always knew you were right because God uses the willing for matters like that...

You never judged...
You always accepted me for exactly who I was
You always supported.
You always laughed at my jokes...
We all
Laughed a lot together
You always protected us
You wanted to beat Williams butt countless times back in the day because he was a jerk...
You loved me as your daughter
You loved your first Godsons more like Grandsons
You & Bevy took me in and made me genuinely feel the love of a Dad & a mom I never did

I’m so happy y’all got to Florida to spend my birthday with me that year... and so thankful Darren & I got to Vegas with Rosie to see y’all not too long ago...

it was divine intervention when I spoke to Catherine by happenstance 4 weeks ago, and you & Bevy came up in our conversation, I got really happy just thinking of y’all My only regret is that I wish had listened to that small voice telling me to give y’all a call to check in & say I love y’all.
But like Bevy always said... No news is good news... and I just believed I had plenty of time to check in & have a talk...

I am so grateful for the gift of you Dad, and the love and support you gave to all who got to call you theirs...

Forever in my heart... So thankful to God y’all picked me up from the airport those 32 years ago.
And y’all brought me into your home & your life, and cared without conditions... The boys & I will always love you & Rosie wishes she got to spend more time getting to know her papa

From You're Sister-in-Law (Malinda)

My dear brother-in-law, now that you are gone, you're no longer here to share the time we had together the time of love and care. Yet, somehow something tells me you are watching over me, now that from worldly cares you finally are free. We will miss you very much and our tears we cannot hide Yet, within our heart, I feel you will always be by our side. Ever since you went away life has never been the same Yet, it comforting us to know that one day we all will meet again. I will really miss your sense of humor, Love sister in Law. Malinda

I am sorry for your loss ,my condolences too you .Gone from our sight ,but never from our hearts.Life is but a stopping place.A pause in whats to be ,A resting place along the road to sweet eternity.May tender memories soften your grief.May fond memories bring you comfort and peace in the thought of knowing the love he brought .

“For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you”...Isaiah 54:10. ..This is the kind of love that you showed us when our families joined as one. That Godly Love...Now that God has called you home to be among his soldiers...this is the kind of love that we will continue.

Thank you for the memories....rest on our Friend...Dad....Papa...
