Alvin was born to the late Mr. George Arthur Shaw and Ms. Bessie Strickland in Arlington, Tennessee, Sunrise: July 13, 1948. Alvin attended Barretts Chapel High School in Arlington, Tennessee before he was drafted and served in the United States Army, Vietnam War. Alvin was the head of his family, fiercely protective, and always unselfishly helping others. No one was a stranger to him and after he witnessed to them about his testimony he touched their lives and they left with a message of hope and faith.
