Prof. Amby Odiari was one time Head of the Department of Computer Science, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO). He established very cordial and healthy working ethos and relationships with his colleagues, staff and students. He was an ever willing teacher ready to impart knowledge to students and his colleagues at any time you approach him. He remained unassuming, calculated and wonderfully a humorous person.
The Department made impressive impact outside the University as students from the Department took park in inter-University Competitions and won laurels. We shall miss his jokes and reminiscences of what life is outside Nigeria especially in the UK where he lived and studied.
Prof., we enjoyed your presence at the Department since 2002. You were calm, loving and hardworking. You maintained a good relationship with both staff and students. We shall remember you fondly by the footprints you left in teaching, learning and Research in Computer and related disciplines.

Sir,

It wasn't too long after you started supervising my project that we became friends, If not for your support, love, and care, I wouldn't have completed the project in time.

Quite amazing how you went as far as welcoming me into your home just so that I could meet up with the deadline. This remains the kindest gesture I had ever received from all my teachers, I'll always appreciate this.

You always treated me like a son, had the best for me at heart, an unrelenting commitment to helping me become a success, even when you were critically Ill, you were still interested in making life better for me.

Such selflessness hard to come by, an angel in a man. I never had a school father until I met you, I thank God for making our paths cross, In a short while I had learned so much from you, my only regret is that our journey together was short. You have made a mark in my heart that can't be erased

You will always hold a special place in my heart.
