My wife Peggy (Pat's nurse friend) and I are very saddened to hear of Andy's passing. I only met him once and spoke on phone with him several times, but - as I'm a U.S. Marine and he a Canadian soldier - he struck me as a straight-talking Canadian warrior and good guy that I would be pals with if we lived closer. We are sure that he is now guarding the gates of heaven.

I will never forget Andy's broad grin, infectious laughter, his zest for life, and his passion for doing things the right and making a difference.  A great friend who always had wise counsel, I am a better person because of him. In truth, he enriched all our lives. Thank you Pat and Chantal for sharing him with us. He will be missed.

RIP

I first met Andy in 1964-65 when we served in the Experimental Brigade Service Battalion, Camp Gagetown. The unit had a lot of bright, young sparkling officers. Andy was one of our greatest sparklers. After our retirements in Ottawa Andy was a regular at our RCASC Officers' functions. Always a smile and a story. He will be missed.

I was privileged to know Andy. We met in Camp Borden while he was at the RCASC School and I was in 2 Tpt. Later we served together at CFSAL. We spend a great week in Arkansas to attend Dave and Paula Simmon's wedding. We met and married our wives, Pat and Darlene, nurses at the Base Hospital, and kept touch over the years. Andy had a joie de vivre that affected all who knew him.

Knowing Andy was an exposure to an irresistible force. I saw this when he was a pilot in Germany, then when he advised the US Army on antitank tactics and later when he rejuvenated DFS. Andy had that common touch that made working with him a pleasure. Doreen and I treasure the memories of knowing him. Cymru am Byth Andy

Mrs Seguin I served with Andy in Germany. In fact I was his driver and as such shared a lot of time with him all over Germany. I enjoyed his stories on the many drives with him on Recce trips. He was always very kind, professional and I will remember him fondly. I am sorry for your loss.

I flew with Andy for 2 years in Germany with the Hel Troop of the RCD Recce Squadron from 69 to 71. I will always remember him as the driving force behind the enormously successful fly-in breakfasts in Soest and in Lahr. He was a delight to know and to work with, always professional and always enthusiastic, a fine person. It was a privilege to have known him and to have served with him.

Andy and I started together on Officer Training, then were Platoon Commanders together in Gagetown, were on flying training together and he was the Best Man at Judy and my wedding in Germany. Our paths crossed many times in our carreers. We served together on 444 Squadron and then at the United Headquarters in NY. Its been quite a trip. I look forward to the celebration of his life.

Mrs. Seguin and dear sweet Sian: I am so sorry about the loss of your husband and father. I know that your father was an incredible dad through the stories you have shared with me over the years. I know that you were a daddy's girl and the admiration you had for your dad was clearly seen by the way your eyes lit up whenever you spoke of him. He will be sadly missed. All my love, Andrea T
