Annie joined our world through Beth and Chips marriage where she entered as extended family along with Chuck and Barb. First at holiday gatherings, then at children's birthday parties, both nephews and our own, and ultimately became an expected guest at events. She became a true part of our family. Further events followed including a shared vacation in the UP, a concert at Pine Knob, her regular visits during the holidays along with her own friends growing our gatherings even further. A particularly memorable occasion was when she snuck back to Detroit to surprise Chip for his fortieth birthday party which he blindly walked in to. She seemed always at ease with us, with our kids, a genuine friend and an adopted aunt. Her sense of humor, and sometimes off beat humor always brought a laugh to all, and why not throw that in, she was the aunt, and often what she said tied into what others were thinking but could not say- kudos. But we remember overall, she was a genuine, caring and nice person. While we lost some contact once she moved to Napa, we caught up during her visits as if no time had passed, all of us a little older, the kids a little taller, her obviously enjoying California. It is apparent from the comments on Facebook from friends, co-workers, and people she had mentored that she had found her place, and for that we are happy. We will miss our Annie, taken away far too young, with so much yet to do. It is difficult to lose family, and memories must now fill the void of her absence in the future. God bless her, and to the Davis family strength at this difficult time.
