Her Life

Mrs. Arledge was born October 8, 1929 in Chambers County, Alabama to the late Steve Hubbard Williams and the late Rebecca Vaster Gillenwaters Williams, she ws the 9th of 12 children. Her hobbies were playing the piano, sewing & gardening. She was a 20 jearvolunteer for Chattahoochee Hospice, served as American Legion Auxiliary Department President (2000) very active in this veteran organization holding multiple local, district, & State offices before serving as Department President, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in LaFayette, UMW, has always been active in the church from children's through youth while her children were young, served as song leader, choir member, substitute pianist, Sunday School teacher, lay leader to list a few areas. Although Mother moved away several times LaFayette was always "Home". So it is fitting that she has now returned home.

She is survived by 5 daughters- Linda Byers (Ted), Nancy Fariss (John), Sara Edwards, Sue Meyer (Dion), & Barbara DeBoer (Marvin) 2 brothers Harlen Williams & Norman Williams 12grandchildren  9 great grandchildren 2 great great grandchildren. she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Allege, Sr., parents, siblings John Henry Williams, Homer Cecil Williams, Curtis Williams, Ida Mae Sims, Harold Williams, Horace Williams, Poly Freeman, Bill Williams & Gaines Williams and a daughter Jo Ann Hudson (Joe).  In lieu of flowers  donations may be made to American Legion Auxiliary Department of Alabama 120 N. Jackson St. Montgomery,Alabama  35104.
