Mr. Anthony C. McElderry of Columbus passed Thursday at St. Francis Hospital. He was 67 years of age.

The son of Mrs. Willie Lee Nelson McElderry and the late Curtis McElderry, Sr., Mr. McElderry was born in Anniston, AL on January 20, 1947. He was a 1965 graduate of the Carver High School in Gadsden, AL and had attended Tennessee State College. He was the Chief of Training with the Columbus Fire Department retiring following 20 years of service. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran. He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn McElderry.

Survivors other than his mother, include: his wife of 45 years, Mrs. Bettye Brown McElderry; two daughters, Tonya R. Holmes (Terrence) and Coree L. McElderry; one grandchild, Madison Elijah Holmes; three brothers, Jeffery McElderry, Darrell McElderry and Stephen McElderry (Berreza); three sisters, Patricia Simpson (Michael),Linda Williams and Stephanie Love (Michael); loving in-laws, Charlene Suber (Nathan), Freddie Brown, Jr., Ronnie R. Brown (Doris) and Dolphus Lewis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
