Anthony Luther Ragland Sr. was born on March 29, 1963 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He was the third of four children born to the late Joyce Marie Ragland. Ms. Ragland moved her family to Oakland California, where Anthony attended public schools and graduated from Oakland Technical High School in 1981.

Anthony accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Beth Eden Baptist Church by Dr. Gillete O. James.

Anthony spent a lifetime making friends and is known for his captivating smile. He enjoyed working with young people, which lead him to work with the Oakland Unified School District over the years. Anyone who knows “Big Ant” or “Capone” knows he was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. He also had a love for music. Always singing and could be found on the dance floor when his song came on or DJing for the community. He loved to bring people together.

Anthony had no greater love than his children and grandchildren. They were his pride and joy and what he believed to be his greatest accomplishments.

Anthony departed this life on Monday, November 4, 2019 . He is preceded in death by his Mother Ms. Joyce Marie Ragland, Brother Ronald Ragland, aunt Mrs. Eloise Scott and uncle Mr. William Scott.

He leaves to cherish in his memories his aunt: Doris. sister Kim. Brother Darryl. six daughters: Nikita, Hillari, Olivia, Anisha, De’oshanay and Asia. Three sons: Anthony Jr., Ronald and Kimoni. Four grandchildren: DeAndre, Kashmier, Kaden and Rhyli. Nephew Jovon. Two great nieces Brooklyn and Braylon and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
