Tree of Life

A tree dedication ceremony in honor of our "Dear LA" was held in LA’s community the Shaw Neighbor located in south city on Sunday May 3, 2015.  This event was sponsored by the St. Louis City Sustainable Neighborhood Initiative. "Our Beloved Memorial" is located at 39th and De Tonty Street it stands north of De Tonty Street (city property) and south of Highway 44 (public property). LA’s Mom, Dad and Uncle Alando broke ground.  To locate this "Tree of Life," look for a marking on it that bears "Our Dear LA’s" name.

Adams Elementary School

The following memorial was presented to the Family by Adams Elementary School, 1311 Tower Grove, Blvd., St. Louis, MO  63110.  The Repast was conducted at LA's school on Saturday, April 25, 2015.

It reads as follows:

God’s Gift of Time

We all need a time to grieve-

A quiet time for reflection

To sit through precious memories

And come to grips

With what has happened.

We all need a time to let the tears flow,

Not for the one we lost,

Who are at peace in Heaven

But for ourselves as we realize

That things will be different now.

We all need a time to just, “be,”

When we can open ourselves to God

And let the reassurance

Of his everlasting love

Start to heal our broken hearts.

God gave us the gift of time,

And one of its greatest uses

Is the healing of a broken heart.

Even during your darkest nights,

God has promised to hold your hand.

He will be there to comfort you,

And He will give you strength

To face this time of sorrow.

My Nephew

Our Dearest Little Antonio, who was so pure and so true

It’s not at all right what has happened to you.

Where did you go, why did you leave?

You should have gone home and been able to believe.

We know you are okay and we know that you are happy.

Our Dearest Little Antonio, whose hands were so small

You were so young when you had left us all.

You will never be forgotten, these days are so different

They are no way the same. It’s now filled with sadness

So many tears and so much pain.

Our Dearest Little Antonio, who only had four short years

You touched so many hearts in the time you spent here.

You’re looking down from above, with your new beautiful wings,

But we miss you so much, take care of Mommy and Daddy,

Always be by their side; give them sweet kisses while they sleep at night.

Our Dearest Little Antonio, you may no longer be here

But know we love you dearly, and we know you are always near.

Love Auntie KeKe
