The son of the late Archie, Sr. and Versie Mahone Jackson, Mr. Jackson was born in Columbus and was a 1966 graduate of the George W. Carver High School. He obtained a Bachelors degree from Wilberforce University. He was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church and was employed with Civil Services for the Federal Government. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Artie J. Bransford and Rachel A. Jackson.

Surviving are: two brothers, Carter B. Jackson and Clovis L. Jackson (Marlene); three aunts, Wylene J. Phillips, Emma Craig and Mary B. Smith; two uncles, Bruce Jackson and General Nathaniel Smith, other relatives and friends.
