I came across this tribute to Art tonight when I was really feeling his loss. He has left a void in my heart that will never be filled. I want you all to know that I was comforted by all your wonderful stories. Art was a remarkable person who touched so many lives. He loved with all his heart and cared about everyone. He would always get the job done but in the end everything was about the people. He was a teacher, a mentor and a friend to all. He was my better half and made me a better person. He was a best friend to his sons, Mark and James. Please continue to share your memories of him and a know a part of him will live on in all of us.

Art was my NGL (Next Generation Leadership) partner for the last 4 months and I learned a lot especially the love he had for his family. I looked through my messaging app to see his last message to me during class. Here it is " i get real feedback from my wife and i'm way better for it". Rest in peace Art

Art and I were meeting virtually over the last few years where he was acting as a Mentor and becoming a close friend. We were meeting most recently virtually over coffee, where we'd talk about family and how things were going with kids and parents during COVID. I never hesitated to call him for lunch when in Herndon pre-pandemic, and he'd always take a few moments to meet me for a coffee or lunch when I was in town. During our meetings he shared so much that continues to help me in my personal and professional life today including being purposeful and transparent at work, as well as open an honest. As a leader, Art showed me how to inspire others, and always be open to new ideas. I will truely miss our regular virtual breaks and his personal mentoring he so freely offered to me. His other friends and family will be in my thoughts and prayers, and his influence will be a permanant part of my life.

I had the pleasure of working with Art on the Mission Apollo project and spending a week together onsite at RTP back in December 2018. Being a born and bred New Yorker myself, we had an instant “best bagel” connection. He also shared with me his love of a good buttered roll --- so I sent him this picture on May 21, 2019 of a bakery storefront in Astoria, Queens that I had passed by that morning and thought of him with a smile. He was such a sweetheart of a guy. I am so very sorry for your loss. May his memory be a blessing for you.

Art thanks for the great Cisco and non Cisco conversations we had in our weekly calls. The time we worked together on the DON account was short but I will always remember you for the great person you are and for relaxed style in which you handled things.

What a great dude! I only recently started working closely with Art, but we hit it off right away. He shared my love of lighthearted work engagement and was one of the best collaborators I've met in 30 years. We both REALLY like Christmas, too.

Art from day one was always an ally to me. I remember working with him on Mission Apollo and him taking the time to learn about me and what I brought to the table as I was new to the USPS Family. A short year later I became a Peer to him and he continued that Allyship by always being an ear and coach to ensure I showed up in the right way. Words cannot express how much I am going to miss his partnership and friendship, he was truly a leader with no hidden agendas and I knew that no matter what he always had my back. THANK YOU Art for being my friend, YOU HAVE LEFT A LASTING IMPRINT ON ME FOREVER.

Art and I worked together for six years and I feel as if I lost a member of my family. Art taught me so much, was a fabulous mentor, and always made me feel like he couldn’t run the Navy team without me. He was the utmost professional, and always did right by our customers, the warfighters, and our business. He cared deeply for our team and always asked how we were doing, what we did over the weekend, and about our families. His reach across Cisco ran far and wide and he touched so many with his knowledge, wisdom, and fun personality. I will fondly remember Art’s many visits to San Diego (JBRs, ball games, fish tacos at Mitch’s, the Midway museum,…) and our customer visit to New Orleans (he insisted we have breakfast at Café Du Monde each day). The love of his family was forefront and he was so proud of his two son’s. Art will be sorely missed. God bless him and his family.

I had the honour of working with Art as a part of the DOD Leadership Team for over 3 years, and in that time, I came to realize just how special he is. Art had a way of making me feel comfortable and reminded me often that my voice matters - and although I was the odd man out being the only Canadian on the team, Art always made me feel at home. He also took the time to explain business acumen, concepts, and ideas to me. Art was a kind, funny, and generous man and we will miss him terribly and keep him in our hearts. I am so sorry for your loss, and we are here if you need anything at all.

I have only worked with Art for three years but we spoke on a daily basis. He always challenged me to be a better HTOM and a better leader for the DOD HTOM team. He was never afraid to tell you exactly what he felt about something but also was the first to ask for your feedback on it. I will greatly miss our ad hoc conversations that sometimes would end up not about work at all. Most of all I will miss his refreshingly dry sense of humor and the genuine satisfaction that came with getting a good laugh out of Art. I am a better person for having met you, Art. Thank you. Rest easy, my friend.

Art had a one-of-a-kind personality, a unique, likeable character, if you will. I remember when he joined the DOD team, and brought all that character, and jokes, and laughs into our team. Super intelligent, waste no time, great contributions to his work. And always a smile and a joke and a caring question or remark. Absolute pleasure knowing Art. The pictures I attached are from our October 2016 DOD offsite, during a giving back activity putting together bags for military members for USO, and enjoying dinner.

Art radiated positivity in every interaction I had with him, and it was clear that he had incredible respect for all of those he worked with. As a person early in my career, it meant so much that he would go out of his way to make sure I was treated as an equal member of the team, and had the support I needed to grow and thrive in our working relationship. I will always remember his kindness and strive to carry-on the values he represented as I continue throughout my career.

Art was an outstanding mentor to me. He was very professional in his approach and knew the business inside and out. One thing I remember most about Art was his laugh. He always showed up to meetings with a smile on his face and seemed to laugh at least once per meeting. Art will definitely be missed!

I had the pleasure of connecting with Art Crowley fairly frequently in my current role. Art was alway a great person to work with. He was always such a professional and had a great way of bringing a keen perspective on the strategy needed to handle the challenges our teams face. I very much appreciated his insights, guidance, and sense of humor, even when handling difficult issues. Art was always a pleasure to connect with, he was friendly and personable, and I will miss him. My deepest condolences.

Art was a great leader, mentor and friend to me and so many others at Cisco. I had just chatted with Art recently about working in Queens, NY, very close to where he grew up and went to college, and we had such a fun conversation, laughing about the things you only experience in NY. He also spoke proudly about his nephew who plays soccer at King’s College (my alma mater) so we connected about that, and the time he spent in northeastern Pennsylvania, where I grew up, and the coal mine tour he experienced in Scranton. I cherish those memories of our laughter and smile while remembering. I am still so shocked and saddened by the news of this past week, but I will always remember Art in the fun, laughing moments that we shared very recently. My memory of Art will be the love he had for his family, colleagues at Cisco and his community, and how willing he always was to share his time and wisdom to make a positive difference in this world. You have made an indelible impact on my life and the lives of so many others that will continue to shine within us.

I'm so sorry for the family's loss with Art’s passing. I've worked closely with Art over the entire time he has been part of the Cisco family. He's been so much more than my manager and director...he's been a partner, mentor, confidant, voice of reason, friend, and even a coach in my attempts to learn the art of smoking great food on a Big Green Egg. I am thankful that I was able to work directly with Art several times over the past week. As always, he was most concerned with the health and well being of the team he was leading on those calls. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate the successes of our team and always led by example in facing the often challenging work we do with grace, calm and confidence. He will be sorely missed in so many ways.

I had struggled with what to say about Art (I last spoke with him on March 19th). My engagements with Art were limited, but hearing the news stopped me in my tracks. I can only imagine the impact for those who fostered a consistent engagement, partnership, and friendship with him.
