We met Arthur only 7 years ago, what a lovely man, the gentle giant. He is one of the nicest men that we have ever been fortunate to have met. Our hearts go out to his wife Sarah and young daughter Lily. The world will be a darker place without Arthur Olusegun Johnson. Deepest condolences Steve & Jeanette

My fondest memory of this truly wonderful human being was sharing a cigarette with Segun at Mill Hill Rugby club on a cold winters evening after training.

I was in awe of his athleticism and like any inquisitive young lad. I fired some questions at him. I wanted to find to know why he was not playing professionally.

Despite his athleticism, he was equally very humble. He had time for everyone.

Rest in peace brother. You are my hero. You truly left a mark. Love you forever brother.

What a tragedy!! Arthur was such a wonderful person, a great rugby player and such fun to be around, unless you were on the opposing team in a rugby game. The sight of Segun blitzing opponents while wearing his knee supports was a sight to behold. RIP my captain, no doubt you will make 1st XV up in heaven.

How heartbreaking. Arthur and I were partners in crime at school: same house, same sense of mischief and obviously got into the same amount of trouble. One of the nicest, most relaxed souls I have ever met. All my love and condolences to his friends and family.

we will never forget,

Your smile that lit a room,

Your laughter that rippled through every gathering,

Your quietly spoken words that inspired confidence,

Your speed on the field of play,

Your steady walk beside friends.

Goodnight Shegs,

Brother, friend, team mate, husband and father.

Till we meet again at the rising of the everlasting dawn.

Sally and Lilly, we never met, but you were well known to us.

You were the centre piece of our conversations.

You were the reason we walked to the train station together,

after every meet-up in the city.

Making sure he never missed the last train home.

God bless you both and keep you strong, always.

Shegs Class mate at Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos.

O.J., Arthur Olusegun Johnson.
A husband, father, brother, friend.
On the field of play, a worrior, an all rounder, as forward or a back with great strength and devastating pace or a slick snooker player.
Off the field of play, the ultimate African gentleman, the professional, family man, a connoisseur of the good things in life, an ambassador to all
my friend, my brother, we salute you.
You live forever in our hearts and prayers
