Daddy Falohun as I always refer to you!!! Your passing came as a shock to me because somehow I just took for granted that great men can’t pass.
Daddy, you lived a very good life and we shall meet at the feet of Jesus on Resurrection morning! Adieu Daddy!!

HOME CALL OF A LEGEND

June 13, 2021
A legend indeed you were my humble and amiable late father. You were known and famous for your problem solving attitude. You never saw a problem as a problem but you always tell me- "Biodun, it is a challenge" I cherished the moments we shared together even till your last day on earth. You were such a brave and courageous man with a midas touch. Memories of you still linger in my heart. I remember that faithful Friday,  you gave me a call that we should all come over to your place on Saturday 3rd April to celebrate Easter with you, little did I know that your were bidding us farewell. I will forever miss you dad, sun re oo baba mi owon.

When Words are not Enough

May 30, 2021
Uncle Tunde, as we fondly called you, the news of your sudden departure took us all by surprise. Although saddened by the fact that our dear Sister Anike, your lifelong companion and soul mate of 55+ years will no longer have you by her side, the precious memories will linger. Memories that I have from the '60s at the Unife campus where you and Sister met. That was the early days of soul music and I remember vividly your collection of Otis Redding and of course that striking resemblance to the late King of Soul.

In your home, we felt free and you showed a lot of respect to everyone. I was immediately struck by the fact that you never referred to me or any of us in the family just by our names. I was Uncle Tope from the beginning despite me being the youngest in the family with the obvious age difference. We could use any of your vehicles at any time without questions asked. If we came back with a few scratches or dents (and there were quite a few), you showed no anger nor did you bear any animosity. These are just some of the many attributes and examples of how you touched each and everyone. Your children and grandchildren exemplify the same humility and reflect your legacy.

I am glad we had a chance to visit February 2020. While we were discussing plans for you and Sister to travel and visit in the US, God had other plans and his plans we know and understand are always the best plans. So we do not mourn, rather we celebrate your life and legacy. Sleep on Uncle Tunde. Tope, Bunmi and the Ojo Family bid you farewell.

A Legacy Secured

May 23, 2021
And so we write some of the closing thoughts as touching the passing on to Glory of Chief Babatunde Olubunmi Falohun. To all who wished us well, prayed for us, called or exchanged greetings on the various social media platforms, I say a big THANK YOU on behalf of our respective families.

It's not for me to judge but my brother-in-law, with God's help, finished his sojourn on earth and the race against time the best way he could. The final two things he did in tandem on that day were to personally feed the poor in the Sabo area of Oshogbo by handing out food packs to the needy and proceeding to do the same for his friends in the sports club. The accounts of his final moments indicate that he slumped after the final task and his spirit went back to its maker. What a glorious ending, touching the heart of our father through giving. We are so grateful Lord. Indeed, "the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong .." (Eccl 9:11) and ".. it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth .." (Rom 9:16). We all must rely on God's mercy to keep the door open for us and His Grace to remain sufficient.

Farewell Uncle Tunde until Resurrection Morning. Your legacy is secure.

Adieu Perfect Gentleman.

Our most recent vivid recollection of Baba Osogbo was of his regal presence at our son Tolu's wedding in February last year. We could never have thought it will be our last time together.
You were there for all of us at one point or the other in our lives, with your advice and support. We will remember your larger than life image. You ran a good race dear Uncle Tunde as we called you. Rest in perfect peace.

He Existed

May 15, 2021
Although he is gone forever,
to be with the angels,
our senses, once greatly maddened, now restored, whisper to us,
subly but emphatically, he existed.

A great tree has fallen,
when the forest will recover,
no one can really tell,
but we smile boldly,
for we know he existed.

We will weep no more,
for when we look back,
we see his bold footprints,
in the sands of time,
so it's sure he existed.

We are more than fulfilled,
for his courage and smile,
his good deeds and love,
will always remind us all,
that a great soul existed.

He existed in our lives,
and in all our hearts,
he will continue to exist,
never to be ever forgotten,
for it's true, he existed.

Baba mi owon! Abiyamo tooto!

My dad was indeed a brave man.You never believed nothing was impossible to achieve. There was no mountain you could not surmount. You facilitated my Youth Service to Lagos State, you travelled to Abuja on several occasions because of that until your contact gave you his words. You  were there for me through thick and thin, we fought all my battles together. Dada mi ko le ja, sugbon mo ni baba to gboya!
Daddy your death was so sudden, I saw you last in December, 2020 and we discussed about our plans for the future. All you wanted for me was to be happy and fulfilled in life. I’m going to miss you dad, I’ll miss your fatherly advise and care.

TRIBUTE TO CHIEF BABATUNDE OLUBUNMI FALOHUN
I just could not pull myself together  to write a tribute on my dear Egbon because his death was a rude shock to the entire Ogunbiyi  family members
However we will not mourn  like unbelievers.
Our dear brother  Chief Babatunde  Olukayode Olubunmi Ayinde  came ,saw and conquered to the glory of God
I never knew his last birthday celebration   was his  75th year on earth  on 15th December 2020
I called him on the 13th  of December 2020 to remind  him of his photograph for his birthday celebration. His response  was Kofo Aburo
I would celebrate my 75th  birthday very well.He later sent 3 photographs  to me for the celebration.
We also joked over the pictures  Bibi re ko se fowo ra
We lost a man who cherished  his nuclear and extended families members
The first grandson  of Pa Daniel  Ogunmuyiwa Ogunbiyi  would never stop telling us how he loved his maternal  grandfather and how much they both bonded while he lived with his maternal grandparents  at Oke Iyin Street   Ilesa  in his early  years .
Sunre o  omo elekure mosu raule oye lule yeye re
Our own Matriarch Mama  Abigail Ebunoluwa Falohun omo Ogunbiyi  a great leader and Mentor who we will forever remember  for her visionary  leadership
From your dear Aburo

CHIEF BABATUNDE FALOHUN TAKES A BOW

April 25, 2021
We the OGUNBIYI FAMILY cannot say in grief that you are no more but in thankfulness we appreciate the legacy you left behind.
With each passing day, your passing bites even more.
The memories of the love and time we all shared together can never depart from our minds.
We wish you were still in our midst.
But we take solace in the fact that  you are resting peacefully with the Lord.
Rest on in the bosom of the Almighty till the resurrection morning.

THE OGUNBIYIS.

ABIYAMO TOOTO DE OJO IKEHIN (A FATHER INDEED TILL THE VERY END)

April 25, 2021
You never gave any one of us problems, rather, you were a solid rock behind us all in spite of our shortcomings. Your name opened doors of opportunities and hitherto inaccessible contacts for us. You got me my job in the FRSC when all hopes seemed lost, even making the stressful journey to Abuja to personally attend my passing out parade and pipping at the Eagle Square. You decorated me to my present rank when I got my last promotion. All done in love. I remember many a wise counsel you gave me......I would come to you emotionally troubled, but certainly leave with the heavy load lifted from my heart. You were truly a legend and we are already missing you. Sleep well dad, you deserve a good rest.
April 24, 2021
I remember when the numerous times you came through for me when I was in trouble (I was always getting in trouble), the many times you gave me life changing counsels, the sacrificeyou made to facilitate my redeployment from Adamawa state (NYSC) and all your efforts to bring us the children together. You were truly a great father and I owe everything I am today to you. Sleep on dad till we meet to part no more. I will always love you!!!!!
