His Life

Bandit & Biddy Babe

December 28, 2013

I don't know if your mom was moving other kittens or maybe met her own fate, but as I walked down that durt road near the river I heard an all too familiar sound. There you were cold and blue- I quickly cupped you in my hands opened my blouse and settled you inside my bra. There I thought you would get warm and you could listen to my heartbeat. You sister was frail but full of energy. I couldn't see any other cats around the area, since then that ole' sheds been torn down. So down the dirt road went the three of us as I walked and took you home. Because of your mask I called you Bandit, your sister I called Biddy Babe because she remained very small. I fed you like my own child ,rocked you till you were well. You were my loyal friend when I was sad, happy, whatever the mood. Every night you laid beside me with your head on the pillow with me - under the covers. When I'd go to work you waited patiently outside on the sidewalk near the front door. You were my life, my joy, my little man. You needed me - and I needed to be needed. Your actions every day was happy to be alive. But one illness after another overtook you.. When they told me the tumor in your chest was inopperable my heart shattered. We had seven wonderful years. I just wanted to thank you for showing me what true loyalty and love was you will always be my # 1.
My heart still aches in sadness with tears I cannot stop. What it meant to lose you no-one will ever know. I wake each morning knowing the ones we love don't really go away. You walk beside me unseen, unheard. At night I know you are lying beside me your always near; so loved, so missed and forever very dear. When I pass from this world I'm in I know you'll be there patiently waiting for me my loving, precious best friend..
