Obituary:
Barbara Mae Ormrod 83, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away on January 24th 2019 in Newport, NH. Barbara had been battling with stomach issues for the last five years.
Barbara is survived by her sister Alice (Midge) Chase (Dyer). She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Ormrod, five brothers Frank (Spark) Dyer, William (Bill) Dyer, James (Jim) Dyer, Maynard Dyer, Theodore (Joe) Dyer, and one sister Marianne Cole (Dyer).
Barbara was born in Sharon, Vermont on July 20 1935. She worked as a cab driver in Claremont, NH. She lived in Texas as a florist.She lived in Framingham, Massachusetts area and worked at a wig company. Barbara & Russell built homes in Florida for a number of years together. Barbara and Russ took a break from home building to run a restaurant in Millinocket, Maine for a number of years before moving back to different areas of Florida to resume building new homes and selling them (which involved many, many moves build a spec, build a home move in, sell and start over).
Barbara is remembered fondly by surviving family and friends as a person who was always eager to help anyone who needed help in anyway possible. Family, friends, and even took in a cat in need of a home (Gracie) are just a few of the people Barbara helped.Barbara was a hard worker all of her life not afraid to jump in and do anything that needed to be done!
At Barbara Ormrod’s request there is to be no funeral. There will be a burial of her ashes on June 8th at 11:00 AM at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon Vermont. We will have a POT-LUCK family celebration of Barbara Ormrod at Alice (Midge) Chase’s home immediately following the burial.
Barbara was a great person she loved all of her nieces and nephews, if she was your friend she was your true friend! She helped any one who needed! She will be missed by all, Barbara, was my friend, my sister, and my sister in-law. I have enjoyed knowing her since I was 15 years old (and that is a while ago!) We both have had Many wonderful years together! I loved her so much! I will miss her for the rest of my life! GOD bless you Barb! Rest In Peace! Love you, Nancy Evans
