hello; I hope this is not an intrusion. I found in an antique shop in South Pasadena an unframed oil painting with "Bea Helfand" written on the back, dated 2002. She is a lovely lady with red hair and blue eyes and if this is this Mrs. Helfand, I'd be glad to help get it back to you. patt.morrison@latimes.com

Happy Birthday to my Mom. Thinking about her today and always.  It is still hard to believe she is gone. She is deeply missed and loved.

A few memories about Bea and Irv that are important to me.

From the first time I met Bea, she was always so classy and elegant. She always made a point to ask about what was going on in my life. Next time I’d see her, she’d follow up with other questions or suggestions. That skill and her efforts made me feel special to her.

I enjoyed so many great holiday meals in Calabasas and Pacific Palisades with your parents and hearing about family stories. My first event was with Glen in from San Francisco making his famous brussel sprouts (also the first time by the way that I ever liked that vegetable). Sandy, Glen and I couldn’t stop laughing at everything. Pretty sure Bea and Irv were highly entertained. I remember catching your Dad on the couch with his side slanted smile watching us in the kitchen, chuckling to himself while shaking his head.

When I went to school for Interior Design, Irv went downstairs and handed me their Encyclopedia of Furniture - a huge book I couldn’t afford at the time.

So glad to have been included in your family for so many years.

Thank you.

My husband George and I were friends and cousins of Bea and Irv for over 50 years and loved them both dearly. Our families spent a lot of time together as the kids were growing up. Bea may your R.I.P. and I  will think of you often. George is no longer with us but our memories will last forever.

It's not well known about Aunt Bea, but she loved to play Solitaire on the iMac. And she was good at it!
