Grandmom Beats

September 29, 2012
Grandmom Beats was funny and always had stories to tell. Ayanna and I loved staying with her. We were Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck to her. He used to but us outfits that matched. When Grandmom would fall asleep, we would say let's ask her a test question to make sure she was really asleep. I remember we asked her what she was doing and she answered "watching the news and your daddy is tap-dancing on the man's nose"...we would laugh at write down her answers to our questions. Grandmom loved the kids. She would write me letters and send little things, like a bookmark or something, always keeping me up to date with what was happening in the family. When my son,Amir was born, she continued with him as she had done with me. Sending letters and little books. To this day when Amir picks up one of those books, he'll say Grandmom Beats bought me this book. He asks about her from time to time and if she'll come back from Heaven. I tell him no because she's happy there with my Grandad Vernon and her baby, my dad, Rabon Jones. I think of her every day because she also used to call us lady bugs and she bought me a lady bug pin, which I keep in my jewelry box so when I open it to put my jewelry on, I think of her for a minute every day. She couldn't wait to get to the afterlife so I know she's happy where she is. I love you Grandmom!!!!

G'mom

July 18, 2012

Well, you can't think of G'mom Beats without thinking about G'dad Vernon. I remember when I used to go spend the summers with her in Chesilhurst, NJ. Her and G'dad always had huge cookouts and family from Chester would come. We'd eat, play games and have fun. G'mom always had a funny story to tell and she could always laugh at herself. I love you and miss you G'mom, but I know you are where you want to be. Tell everyone "Hi, and I love them" for me. Love you.

My Mother

She was a beautiful wise spirit, always full of funny things to say, things to make you laugh and words of wisdom.  Believed in Karma and the After-Life.  I am sure she is with loved ones who have passed before her.  Smiling and running around behind her baby boy Rabon.  She missed him and we miss her.

Loving you Always, Momi
