i'm not against it.. but i doubt it

1- I'm allergic to watermelon. it's my favorite fruit in the whole world so i eat it anyways and then i break out into hives and itch for hours. but it's worth it. and benadryl helps. 

2- i very very rarely eat red meat. it's not that i don't like it but when i was younger my great grandparents had a farm and i loved to play with the cows.. and i had a particular cow that i really loved. his name was rocky. and then rocky disappeared and my brother jokingly told me that we would be eating him for dinner. thanks for that drew.. 

3- my brother is my best friend in the whole world.. =)

4- i absolutely hate when people call me "rebekah" unless i introduce myself to them AS rebekah.. and also, when people call me "becky" it makes me cringe and want to slap the person. 

5- regarding #4, i'm not a violent person. 

6- i haven't seen my natural hair color in over 10 years. but, having said that, i've seen it some pretty strange colors as well. 

7- i constantly write poetry. all the time. and i never let anyone read it. ever. i will some day though. 

8- i'm obsessed with celebrity gossip and i hate that i love it but i'm addicted to it. 

9- i have a hard time believing that it's possible to love my own children more than what i love the holmes and ekers kids. 

10- i talk to my mom on the phone every day. and it breaks my heart in thousands of pieces that i can't hear my dad's voice. 

11- i've been writing a book for about 6 months and i'm not even done with the first chapter.. and i work on it ALL the time. its probably going to take me years to finish it. 

12- i loathe going to school. i hate everything about it. the only reason i go is b/c i want to get an education.. and writing is the only "academic" thing i enjoy doing so that's why i chose it as my major. 

13- i remember the first time i saw a VW Bug. i was probably 3 years old.. it was red and i fell in love with it. i always always always wanted one and finally got one right before i graduated high school. i had it for 6 years and then i got rid of it about 3 weeks ago (she died) and i cried like a baby. 

14- i name inanimate objects and only refer to them as their names. example: my gps system is roxy. i only refer to her as roxy and not my gps system. also- my car is mortie.

15- i have to remind myself to breathe when i chew. i can thank my asthma for that one. 

16- out of the 3 roommates, i'm considered to be the mom.. and i wouldn't have it any other way. 

17- i had my tongue pierced for about 3 years. i took it out one summer b/c i was a counselor at a church camp and didn't think it would be appropriate and now i miss it. 

18- my dream is to own a coffee shop/cafe. i will sell my jewelry and my paintings and just drink coffee and talk to people all day long. it'll happen someday.. i'm just not sure where. 

19- i look just like my dad's mom when she was about my age and i think it's creepy. 

20-i spend hours on itunes sometimes just searching for that one song that i need to hear. i always find it.

21- i have a horrible horrible habit of pushing people out of my life. i don't do it on purpose but i need to have a lot of alone time (to write, clear my head, pray, read) and people often interpret that as me being distant and uninterested, but that's not the case at all. 

22- i have 3 tattoos and want to be covered in them.. but i also want to get rid of them when i get older so that's why i only have 3 that i can hide when i want to. 

23- i'm very awkward and hate one on one conversations b/c i panic and don't know what to say. i'll do anything and everything to avoid this. don't take it personal =) also- this probably the one thing about myself that i dislike the most. 

24- i work in customer service at a call center. i have to be very confident in what i say or the customers will question my knowledge. i like having this alter-ego where everything i say is said with confidence and people very rarely question me. my real life personality is not like this at all. 

25- i like having two separate lives. one in bowling green and one in ashland. i like it so much that i decided to stay in bowling green after i graduate.

Rebekah Leah "Bekah" Stevens McDavid, 27, of Westwood, wife of Adam Craig McDavid, died Friday morning, April 12, 2013, in Kings's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland following a sudden illness.

Bekah was born June 3, 1985, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of Perry and Myra Franklin Stevens of Westwood.  She was a 2003 graduate of Fairview High School and attended Western Kentucky University.  Bekah was employed with Fifth Third Bank and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.  Her life was a ministry to the Lord and she lived to be a Christian example to the young children in her path.

Bekah is also survived by a brother, Drew Stevens of Westwood; her maternal grandparents, Henry and Mildred Franklin of Ashland; a very special friend, Sydney Ekers; her mother and father-in-law, Cris and Ron McDavid; and her sister-in-law, Kayla McDavid of Catlettsburg.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Fairview Baptist Church on Main Street in Westwood by Pastor Mike Rice.  Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today, April 16, 2013, at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland.

Afterglow

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when day is gone.  I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times, and laughing times, and bright and sunny days.  I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
