Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, February 11th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the viewing room at Meadows Funeral Home. 315 S. Madison, Albany, Georgia 31701. Reserve for Benjamin E. “Ben” Jolivette, who died suddenly on Saturday February 3rd.

 He was 72 years old. A funeral will be conducted on Monday, February 12th at 11:00 a.m., at 1534 E. Broad Ave. Emanuel Seventy-Day Adventist Church.

 Ben was born & raised in Albany, Georgia. He was educated in the Dougherty County School System - Public Schools and attended Monroe High School.

 Ben served in the United States Marine Corps and worked various jobs throughout his adult life. He worked as an over the road truck driver. After his truck driving career, he drove the Church bus, taking the neighborhood youth to Church services and for VBS.

Ben was a dedicated family advocate first and foremost. He treasured his daughter Kimberly and enjoyed talking with her on Sunday mornings. He enjoyed teasing and creating laughter for his community and friends. Everyone that knew him loved his humorous, jovial moods.

 Ben was a member of the Emanuel Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Where he served as a member until his health declined. Ben was also a faithful servant to his community where he helped countless families get to Church. Ben was known for putting other’s needs before his own.

 Ben departed his earthly walk of life on Saturday Feb 03, 2024, at Dawson Nursing Rehabilitation. In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his oldest sister Linda Cook. Ben believes he will remain in his final resting place until Jesus returns to resurrect him.

Ben is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Sims Woodruff (Anthony), two grandchildren Alxis Gainer & Anthony Jr., all of Athens, GA, sisters Chyleen Bell (Amos), and Victoria Haynes (Ronnie) both of Albany, GA and a host of godchildren, nieces and nephews, Roderick Jolivette (Lavonda),who took care of Ben’s affairs.
