On March 2, 2014; the news spread that our grandmother Erin Wabbington Mitchell's last surviving sibling had crossed over from Earth to Eternal Life.
In memory of our Aunt and loved one, Bertha Wabbington Williams, known by many as "Aunt Bertha" or "Aunt Polly", this site will provide a place for others to leave messages of encouragement. .She lived a beautiful life and was constantly on a mission to keep the beauty of "FAMILY and FAMILY REUNIONS" alive and moving forward. Bertha Wabbington Williams was a glamourous lady! She believed in Beauty, Love of God and Family and Education. She loved music and we will always remember how beautifully she sang " This Little Light of Mine" at the worship service as we closed out the family reunion in Atlanta, Georgia in 2008. Aunt Bertha was a living witness to the scripture " To Everything,There Is a Season". This was her season to leave us.
Although she will be missed, the very fact that GOD loaned her to us for over 90 years will motivate us to MOVE forward rather than waddle in the past and simply mourn. We will commit to keeping the legacy of Family close and meaningful. We will remember her forever.

My name is Jessie!
My grandmother Erin Wabbington Mitchell and Bertha Wabbington Williams were sisters.
At the Wabbington-Sampson Family Reunion in New Orleans, a funny thing happened. We were preparing to pose for a photo.
When Aunt Bertha took her place in the photo, she was wearing a beautiful top. I discovered that " Me and Aunt Bertha had the same exact top in New Orleans".
That really made her laugh and I reminded her how great minds and great fashion sense runs in the family.
