Bev came in and out of this life too quickly. She made an impact to many and was a strong women who supported women in the work force. . Her value was her friendship to her family and friends (which were many.) We will miss you. I do know the world is a better place because of you! Love you mean it! Rita

Where do I even begin: I met Bev. when she came to work at Eddie Bauer in Winston Salem N.C. from Seattle Washington. Who knew then we would forge a friendship of a lifetime. Their is a song by Leona Lewis that has given me strength. The words in the song begin with"you walked with me Footprints in the sand and help understand where I'm going  You walked with me when I was all alone with so much unknown along the way I heard you say I promise you I'm always there when your heart is filled with sorrow and despair and I'll carry you when you need a friend You find my FOOTPRINTS in the sand. This song has help me so much and those are just some of the words. I hope if you get a chance to hear this song it will bless you and give you comfort as it has me. Bev was my friend, mentor and boss even closer than my own sister. I love Patrick as if he is my own son. In fact his birthday and my oldest grandson's birthday are on the same day and Bev. and I both thought wow!! Here we both have the same first name aand share so many things in common. We worked along side each in good times and in bad. She was there for me and I for her. The other day I was going down the highway just like when I use to go to work ; and I just broke down and cried. We carpool to work everyday she one week and me the next and this went on for years. We had great conversations. One thing about her if you knew her she pulled no punches. You knew what she thought take it or leave it. I loved it . She also always had your back NO MATTER WHAT!!! If nothing else you could count her. We would talk on her way into work or off from work and even to this day I still have some of her voice messages because it is so hard to just let go and know she is not here. She will forever be be in my spirit. I will run in the Komen Race this year in honor of my best friend who fought the best fight of her life in Sept. 2014. Her name will be on my shirt. I LOVE YOU BEV. AND YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN .My whole family loves you. All of my grandchildren. They know that God has a beautiful angel with him now. And Donish who worked along side you at Levi day in and day out misses you so much.We have had our cry moments together to. And of course their was the beautiful wedding of Dana and Patrick. Who could forget how wonderful this occasion was and how HAPPY Bev. was. The meant so much to her and I will ever be so grateful to God that she was here to see her son marry this beautiful young woman who has been so awesome . You could not ask for anything more> I love you Dana and I love you Patrick and I'm so glad you found each other. This was the happiest day of your mom's life and it is apparent in all the pictures.I could go and on.Many people here where I work loved Bev. including the Nursing supv. Rita and of course the PA Paul Craft. Bev. made a difference in my life and I only hope that I can do the same for someone else in my lifetime. I always wanted to be supported to Bev. even to the end and as painful as it was I did. To all my extended family Patrick,Dana,Mom,Dad,sisters, brother's I love you all very much and I'm praying for you. Thank you Melody for becoming my new sister and letting me have a neice Bree as family also. I could not ask for a better family to be a part of.Many hugs to all of you even though I cannot be their with you. My heart is wiith you. I love you. Your other sister here in North Carolina Beverly always and forever. I LOVE YOU BEVERLY BENSON AND I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU I PROMISE! REST IN PEACE ! I LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!!!! BEVERLY

She fought the battle of her cancer as it did not define her. She stayed positive the entire time I drove and went with her from Baptist to Duke. We went for 3 1/2 years she and I. We talked, yes Bev talked and as a matter of fact, she usually called me on her way home from work and we would talk for an hour at least. I was her confidant, I was her sounding board, I was an associate at work and a friend outside of work. No one could possibly deny that Bev was driven. She worked hard but did not play hard. She really did not play. She liked her alone time to watch the Seahawks play and to watch MSNBC. She was hard working to a fault. She had no life other than work. She poured herself into it as if it were her own business. She was rewarded for this dedication with a couple of nice trips tho the last one to Hawaii she was too sick to go. Even when she felt horrible she would as the Dr if she could go back to work. You rarely saw the soft side of Bev but with the planning of Patrick's dinner at my house before the wedding I got to see the sensitive and emotional side of her..especially when it came to Patrick. As far as Bev was concerned Patrick hung the moon. He was her life and then he welcomed Dana into that place. She was so proud of him and said she was so thankful to have been able to see him wed and know how happy he was. She talked often about Seattle. That is and was where her heart was. I know that may she rest in peace that spreading her ashes in Iowa and in Seattle is what she would want. I know this weekend will be tough and know I will be with you in spirit and in love but, be good to each other, take care of each other and maybe this time will bring all of you closer and give you closure. My prayers are with you.  Lori
