Billy Columbus Goodman affectionately known to many as “Billy O”, “Paw-Paw”, “Bill Bill”, “Big O” & “Dad”, age 54, of Dayton, OH passed away surrounded by loved ones on October 1, 2023.

He is preceded in death by his mother Sylvia Ray, his father Cleve Bloodsaw, his grandmother Katie Camp, his grandfather Moses Goodman Sr., his nephew Jonathan Jean-Louis, his grandmother Colonia Franklin, and his grandfather Tankie Franklin.

Billy was born and raised in Dayton, OH. Billy gained notoriety while playing basketball, football, and running track at Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School. His athletic abilities and charismatic smile made him a well-known name amongst coaches and his fellow teammates. He is remembered as one of the greatest to fulfill the running-back position while wearing his jersey number 46 proudly. Billy O’s hobbies included fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, boxing, and barbecuing. He maintained his goofy, jokester personality even up until his last days.

One of Billy’s best qualities was his very protective nature, he went above and beyond to ensure the safety of his family and friends. Some of his proudest moments include being a great father and grandfather, giving himself to Christ through baptism, and obtaining his CDL license to become a truck driver.

He will be dearly missed by his loved ones and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. We will miss him saying “baby, bay-bay” and his signature whistle.
