Thinking of you
Elyse Levy and family
Brian Cody Clark, 41, of Langley, Washington, passed away suddenly of natural causes on Saturday, March 18th.
Brian was welcomed into the world on June 12, 1975, as the second child of Shirley and Roger Clark in Quincy, Massachusetts, where he enjoyed a childhood filled with playing outside with friends until the street lights came on, trips to the beach, and scoring personal record wins on his favorite Atari and Nintendo games. Beginning at a young age, he also displayed unique talents in art and loved to build and fix small machines.
Brian relocated with his family in 1989 to Everett, Washington where he later graduated high school and then enlisted in the Navy. Shortly after his enlistment, his illness was discovered, which he bravely faced and dealt with in his own way using the support of close family and his strong faith. After he left the Navy, he reunited with his family and worked a variety of jobs, most recently in construction with his step-father’s contracting business.
Brian lived a simple life, and being there for others was his priority. He had a special way of encouraging those around him to truly be themselves and loved to make people laugh. When he wasn’t working, he spent time entertaining his nieces and nephews, watching classic movies and visiting his favorite coffee shops. He enjoyed taking long, solitary walks around his neighborhood and became known for stopping along the way to lend a hand to anyone that needed it – unloading groceries, moving/cutting wood, landscaping, running errands for elderly friends – if someone needed him, he didn’t hesitate.
Brian is survived by his sisters Brenda Patnaude, Melissa Groff and Janine Cunningham; his brothers Kenny Cunningham and Scott Cunningham; his parents Shirley and Ken Cunningham, his paternal Grandmother, Ruth Clark, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Roger Cody Clark, and his maternal grandmother, Ann Blackwood.
Brian’s unique spirit and talents will be celebrated at a memorial service held at New Hope Chapel in Plymouth, Massachusetts on Saturday, April 8th at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider keeping Brian’s helpful spirit alive by donating to Samaritan’s Purse or the Wounded Warrior Project.
