He was also preceded in death by his first wife of over 50 years Lois Hockaday.

To the Hockaday family,
I want to express our deepest sympathy to you all. I fondly remember Bruce
from my days at Delrayno Baptist Church. How we all enjoyed hearing him sing with the Delrayno Quartet with Maynard Averette, Henry Currin and Horace Huff. I know they are singing together now in the Heavenly choir.
