My family lived next to Buddy and his family on Woodbury Road in Jackson for several years. After we moved I occasionally ran into Buddy
Buddy was gone too soon. I have good memories of us being neighbors when our children were young and I was much younger. God Bless his family at this time.

I grew up with Buddy in Louisville, MS where we were both members of Troop 5. In God's providence both Buddy and I would become architects. And we both started our own firms at around the same time. Over the years there was never a lack of things to discuss: from "how're ya doing?", to friendships, to architecture/work-related topics. Because of our common profession we seemed to have a unique bond. But nothing in our lives EVER created a bond like our mutual trust in Jesus, and we never tired of encouraging each other in the Lord.

There is much I could write, but let me simply offer this - Buddy's smile and infectious joy & laughter were just a few simple yet clear ways that Jesus Christ lived in and through him. I look forward to seeing Buddy in heaven where we'll be able to share Christ's joy unhindered!

Buddy planned a building for me in year 2000. He was one of the most talented people with whom I have ever crossed paths, and for sure one of the nicest and most considerate men on the planet. I wish I had been able to keep up with him over the years, but every "Buddy story" i heard always showed true his kindness, his abilities, his attractive humor, and his devotion to The Father. I've always been a better person for knowing Buddy Grantier.

I met Buddy in our sangha in Jackson several years ago and was drawn to his big smile, honest speech and earnest ways. He was a seeker and loved learning. During more difficult times in his life, he held on to the best of folks and reached out to others. He was/is a dear soul and I will miss you, Buddy.
May your family and friends see you in the rain, clouds, and blue sky.

We knew Buddy at Liberty Universalist Church. We had good conversations with him there and enjoyed discovering common friends at MSU. We are deeply saddened by his passing and offer our sincere sympathy to his family and friends.

I am in disbelief seeing Buddy's Obit. Buddy designed some buildings for me in past years. He was always a man of his word and was more than pleasant to do business with. It is interesting to learn he was somewhat mentored by " Big Iron"' from Louisville through the Boy Scouts. I am older than Buddy, but was in Scouts in the same area or council and knew "Big Iron', however at that time did not know Buddy. In God's providence our paths would cross in business later in our lives. I will always remember his smile. We have lost a great man in his passing.

I knew Buddy through a meditation group in the Plum Village Tradition that we were a part of for some years in Jackson Mississippi. He was a fine man and true friend to all who encountered him. I was so sad to hear of his diagnosis. What a loss for this world. Sending love and healing energy to his family and those grandchildren that he was so proud of. Rest easy Buddy.

I knew Buddy through Boy Scouts when he was living in Louisville, Ms and a member of the “Order of the Arrow”. I actually lost track of him until I began to work for him many years later. I was his very first employee in his architectural firm. The 16 years I worked for him were really good years. During my last seven working years with him, there was a sense of an ‘office family atmosphere’ with the employees he hired. He was always interesting during our weekly staff meetings as he would occasionally look out the window and all of a sudden say, “squirrel”…
Buddy will be remembered for his willingness to work with the youth, his religious endeavors, his work ethics, and his famous ‘smile’…!!!
