Mom was driving us kids.. We looked over and a farmer on his tractor was waving his arms to get our attention..(Mom was known for taking care of animals in trouble..)

His tractor had run over a skunks nest. The babies were very tiny and mother skunk had died. So mom piled us all in the car.. Skunks and all..

Once we were home she knew how to 'descent' the babies.. But us kids had not gone without being skunked. For days we had all kinds of baths.. non worked. Tomato juice..oatmeal etc etc.. we were red eyed and stunk for days..

 oh yes one skunk was named 'Flower'..   mom did have 3 years of University of Davis Vet school in her pocket!
