Memorial on Sunday, July 31st.

<p>An open memorial will be held for all who wish to join her family in honoring her memory on Sunday, July 31st. The small service will begin at 4pm at the home of Carol's son. Many of her recent paintings will be on display. The address is 112 John Hand Drive Coventry, Ct. Flowers should be sent to that location.</p>

Obituary

Carol Ann Stevenson originally of Coventry, CT passes away peacefully on the morning of July 21st, 2016 at a hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. She had been residing in nearby Granbury, Texas with her long term companion Mark Shirey. Carol was one of five children born to Joan and Tom Stevenson. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Robert Stevenson. She is survived by her brothers Thomas Stevenson, Richard Stevenson, and Daniel Stevenson.Richard and his wife sherry Stevenson live in Coventry, CT and have two children, Heather and Richard. Heather is married to David Nordmark and they have two children Hunter and Tucker. Richard Stevenson Jr. Is married to Rae Ann Barnett Stevenson and their two children are Justin and Skyla.  Daniel Stevenson is married to Stacy Crickmore Stevenson. They live in Coventry with their daughter Heidi. Carol married John Stinson in 1976 and raised her family with him in Coventry, CT. Her son Shane Stinsonand his wife Crissy currently live in Coventry, CT with their 3 children Alexa, Wade, and Faith whom Carol cherished deeply. Carol's daughter Amanda married Brent Cordy and they currently reside in Mansfield, CT with their two children Evalyn Stinson and Flip Cordy. Carol did not have an opportunity to meet her youngest grandson Flip, Her grandaughter Evalyn, who always called her "Honey", held a special place in her heart.Carol was a graduate of Coventry High School's class of 1974 and had many friends whom she enjoyed reminiscing about and visiting with over the years. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree in English from Eastern Connecticut State University. She spent much of her time explorinher interests in mountain biking and photography. Throughout the past decade she travelled the world with Mark. She also devoted much of her time to painting, a passion she developed at a young age. Carol was also consumed in studying spirituality and held many beliefs in the power of transendence.
