Carolyn attended Dunbar High School and her latest career position was a Job Coach at Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley. She was a member of Pastor L. Mann’s, Rockhill Baptist Church. Carolyn loved the Lord, Cooking, and being “A ROCK” for her family. 

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Idella Griffith, her son Derrick Eugene Gates, her beloved sister Olivia Woods and brothers Sam, Thomas, and William Griffith. 

She leaves to cherish her memories children Royce Gates, Jr. (Elizabeth), Darnell Gates (Tracie), Andre Gates (Melody), Christen Gates and Ebony Gates. Her wonderful grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
