Charles Edward Dickens was born on February 22, 1945 in Winnsboro, LA. to the parents of Carey Dickens and Bessie Lee. He later moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1963. He is the second oldest child of twelve siblings.
He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved cooking, baking, singing and playing the guitar. His favorite dish was peach cobbler and a variety of delicious pies, which everyone enjoyed and fought over. He also had a love for animals in which he adored.
Charles Dickens was preceded in death by his wife Katie Dickens, father Carey Dickens, mother Bessie Lee, and brothers Johnny Lee and Emmanuel Dickens.
He leaves to cherish his memory his four children: Two sons Adrian Dickens / Daniel Freeman (wife Beverly Freeman), Charles Johnson. Two daughters: Zena Dickens and Arledra Jackson all residences in Las Vegas, NV.
His five sisters: Tobia Dickens of Las Vegas, NV., Brenda Turnbull of Baton Rouge, LA,. Yvonne McDaniel of Baton Rouge, LA., Aliyah Sabry of San Francisco, CA., and Shirley Dickens of Las Vegas, NV. Four brothers: Reginald Dickens of Vidalia, LA, Billy Lee of Atlanta, GA, Wayne Dickens and Gary Dickens of Pontiac, MI.
He also leaves three aunts: Lessie Moore of Winnsboro, LA, Helen Lee of Pontiac, MI, and Vera Thomas of Tallulah, LA and one uncle Edward Dickens of Oakland, CA.
Six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his longtime companion Carol Alexander.
