I'd lost touch with Chuck over the years, but we worked on a lot of projects together at Tucker Wayne and he was always a lot of fun to be around. Jeri and I were shocked and saddened to hear this news. Our thoughts are with Debbie and the family.

From Uncle Gale:...I remember the mischief that Chuck and our Pat got into when they were younger. I will miss his good nature. I never heard Chuck raise his voice in anger. I am grateful for the pictures that he drew for us over the years, with his very talented left hand!

From cousin Sal...like Sarah, I remember when I was younger, Chuck would grab a sketch pad and draw for me. My fascination was horses and dogs and he drew fantastic ones for me, and encouraged me to try to draw. Just recently, he did a marvelous portrait of our old dog for us. I admired his creativity and his talent. I also have a copy of the Grandma Fish cookbook, that is a classic!

You will be missed, Chuck. May you rest in peace.

I was only two when my brother was born so it seems he was part of my whole life. I have so many stories to tell and full of memories. I remember holding his hand and watching over him when we were little. I was always in charge even when he became older jumping off the roof into the pool, and he became a stinker. Lol. When Mom was passing she said watch over your brother. She also said and get married and working on that one yet. Lol

When I was sad Chuck would ease the sadness and sometimes even make me laugh. I need him now to ease the sadness. How selfish that is when he is not suffering and in a beautiful better place. I love you my brother

Chuck and I were very close growing up, more like brother and sister than cousins. Only 3 months apart in age and both "adventuresome", we managed to get ourselves into one mess after another. The most memorable was when we each got a new BB gun. We quickly tired of shooting at targets and tin cans and made up a great game of shooting at the neighbor's greenhouse. Never thinking the tiny holes a BB makes would cause any damage or ever be discovered, we were surprised when confronted about it. Dad replaced the broken panes of glass but he and the neighbor agreed that our punishment would be to paint the neighbor's small horse barn. What a grand time we had working off our debt! With Chuck everything was fun and always an adventure. 'Never a dull moment' - truer words have never been spoken. I'll miss you cuz.

I was his neighbor for 25 years. Chuck was always a great friend and neighbor and helped me out countless times. I was always amazed at his artistic and creative talents and will miss his friendship very much.

I am shocked and completely saddened by this. I knew Chuck as a kind, giving, generous, impish man who loved to revel in his craft, in mischievousness, and in fun. He had such a big impact on me and my approach to the industry (and life, for that matter), and I am more than fortunate to have called him a friend.

Chuck called me on Monday. I texted him I was in Florida. We texted back and forth and were suppose to get together when I got back. I am deeply saddened and wish I was able to see him before he died. I loved him and the art work in my home will forever be cherished by me.

My favorite memories of you were from my childhood. You would draw cartoon characters for us when we were visiting at your mom's. I didn't get to see you much in recent years. The last time I saw you we were at Pat's playing croquet, laughing and enjoying time with our family. God speed Chuck! Thank you for leaving the best cookbook to remember you and Grandma Fish, it is a treasured gift I hold dear.

I knew Chuck from childhood. He lived 2 doors down from me. We went to school together. I remember him being bigger than life. Went went to school together. He and the boys used to jump off his moms porch into the swimming pool.
I am very happy to know he had a good life. He will be missed.

As a family we always love seeing all of Chuck's artwork at the family cabin. He was so talented and we enjoyed all the creatures in his artwork. Recently, he gave my boys some of his artwork that they proudly came home and immediately displayed on their wall. He will be missed.

I grew up with Chuck, I was a year behind him at Wyoming Park, played sandlot base ball on Bluebird street when we were kids, was a great guy to grow up with, will miss him, Mike Hoektra

I am in shock. I just had a phone conversation with Chuck last week. I hired Chuck in 1972 as a junior art director. We worked together on many projects over the years. I did a series of humorous illustrations of Chuck usually poking fun at some silly moment we had together. I will miss him and that wonderful little laugh. Thoughts are now with Debbie and the family.
