Chelsi's Life...
Chelsi was born in Santa Clara, CA on September 7, 1989 and turned 1 during our relocation to Columbia, Maryland.
Chelsi has always been really creative. When she was very young, she enjoyed things like performing for us while "skating" in her socks on the floor, singing her own version of opera in the shower (then asking "How does that sound?", writing stories about a pompom family named The Fribbles, sewing, reading and such. She took up guitar at around 10 years old and after 1 year of lessons, began to self teach piano, too. She loved music and often said music saved her life. Her chest tattoo was to honor that part of herself.
She attended Columbia Montisori School through kindergarten and then attended Longfellow Elementary. She was transferred away from her friends for middle school in Clarksville when they rezoned the schools. It was a difficult transition for Chelsi to leave her friends behind. During this time she became a competition cheerleader. With no gymnastics background, she learned to do back handsprings in an afternoon and was considered a valuable member of the Maryland Rockets. She attended Glenelg Country school through 11th grade when she decided to leave and get her GED so she could start learning music production. Along with receiving her high school diploma, she was awarded a Certificate of High Achievement from the State of Maryland for her high scores.... she never opened a single book before taking the exams. Chelsi attended Sheffield Institute for Recording Arts where she received her certifications in sound and technical. Wanting to explore other options for a career path and further exercise her creative skills, she attended The Paul Mitchell Temple Institute for hair in Frederick, MD.
Chelsi was really fun, funny, spontaneous, and had a quick wit. Her smile was infectious. She gave great hugs. She loved music, the Baltimore Orioles, her son, her friends, her family, Mother Earth and Tyler. She had a sharp left mathamatical left brain and intuitive, musical right brain. She was brilliant in many ways. Her smile, hugs, brilliance and love will be forever missed.
Chelsi loved the mountains. She passed away surrounded by the beauty of the Appalacian Trail. Her wish when this life was complete was to become a tree. And so she shall. Our world, our lives are forever changed.
A memorial celebration for her life will be held the first week in July for those who would like to come out to remember her through stories and music. A separate announcement will be made as to when and where as we are able to make the arrangements.
I hope you will help us celebrate her here with a message or a story. Chelsi left us too soon. There is still so much to say to her, do with her and learn from her.
Our Love, Our Hearts
Oh Chelsi <3
