You always treated us all with the love and care a mother would her kids. I felt a home away from home and the support of a parent every time I was around you. I longed for the day I would come back to visit you and shower you with beautiful gifts and thank you for all your kindness and generosity. When we tell the beautiful stories of our growing up your chapter is one that would be told with singing and dancing and your legacy will forever live on. Adieu Aunty C. Till we meet again in glory.

Queen of Queens. Fare thee well in the next world. Rest. Your journey is done. Pain, we feel but the memories live on. Your race was tough but your grace strong. Umbrella to many. A pillar standing firm. HE has called you and ours is not to argue. Greet HIM for us and until it is time for HIM to call each and every one of us at our appointed time: Rest in Peace Dr. Chiaka Edith Aniebo (née Mbakwem)

Aunty, your unexpected demise left the entire family shocked and confused. It was something we all could not understand. I remember how you always called me to see how I was doing while I was on transfer. You were genuinely concerned about everyone's well-being. You instilled discipline, hard work and high moral standards in anyone who came around you. You were a mother to us all. You will be missed but never forgotten. Farewell Aunty.
Your nephew, ND.

A truly special Aunty

November 23, 2022
Googled Aunty Chiaka's name once again today in the hope that I would be able to reconnect with her and read the shocking news. Aunty Chiaka was not just a family friend, she was family. I cannot think of a time in my childhood that she was not present in my life. My fondest memory was when she picked me up from our house at Owerri in the late 70's and I spent the entire long vacation with her at her flat in Nsukka. Needless to say, I did not miss my parents or siblings for the entire duration of the vacation which ended with a visit to the university bookshop where she indulged me with all the books that my eyes and heart desired. My condolences to Uncle Ifeanyi and all the children that regretfully I never got to know (tried to reach out to someone I thought might be the daughter on social media but did not get a response). The last time I saw Aunty Chiaka was when she visited us at Nsukka with Uncle Ifeanyi and her first daughter who was just a baby then. I remember her laughter and the pride she felt at being a great wife and wonderful mother to Uncle Ifeanyi and her daughter.
