I miss you so much, Chinh

September 7, 2013

Chinh,

How can I start? it has been almost three weeks since you leave us. The pain is still in my heart deeply. It hurts too much when I think of you, Tammy, Ngan, and Adam. I just want to say thank you so much for being such a wonderful person and brother in law. My sister was very happy with your love. We can't see each other anymore, but I will keep all of memories about you in my heart forever. I always remember the nights we played Monopoly until 4 A.M. You were the guy who always "cheated" and made us laugh so much. I remember the night we were drinking at your house then we all were drunk and started to call each other " may"  "tao". I never forget your offer to help when I was going through a hard time in my life. You offered me to move to San Jose with you and Ngan. There are so many things I wanted to tell you and let you know that my family does appreciate to have you in our life, but I never had a chance to tell you. I promise I will help Ngan to raise Tammy and Adam. They will be proud about their father. It is so sad when you are gone now, but we all will see each other there later. Ngan and I promise that we will be strong and move on to take care of Tammy and Adam. You will be in my heart forever. See you there!

Having fun

August 26, 2013

If I remember correctly, this was taken at Chinh's bachelor party.  As written in the obituary, Chinh always "cherish the company of his friends"

When can I start?

August 24, 2013

Hi Chinh,

I remembered when you first came to work to meet me in Building 2 for the 1st time in 2004.

We were in the middle of company’s integration, which was so much of fire fighting everyday and projects was piled up to the roof.  Not only you weren’t shy away from the opportunity I've presented but also asking us what else you could do to further off load the works from the team. This is a true character and it’s something cannot be trained on the job.

We would have not been able to accomplish and met many of those tight deliverables without your supports and dedication.

I've had a wonderful opportunity to witness you walking down the aisle with your soul made, cry and laugh together. You have done so wells for you and for your family, which I am very sure you're proud of your accomplishment looking down.

One thing I could never forget is when you learned about the dead of our oldest child, you had immediately contacting me and sharing your condolence with us. Deep inside, we know we'll be O.K. because we have people like you that care about us as a human being.

It was an honor to have someone like you in our team and in our life.

May gods blessed your family and to help them cope through this difficult time in life.

Sleep wells my friend and one day we shall meet again to enjoy that one special “Ca Phe Sua Da”. Sometime we just have to remind our self, our body is just a vehicle but our soul will live on eternity.

Good memories in A3 lab

August 23, 2013

We had so much fun in this building. From the day we took over this lab sometime in April 2007 all the way till the day we moved out in December 2012.

Memories of a co-worker and friend

August 22, 2013

Dear Chinh,

I remembered I met you for the first time at Juniper right on my birthday during a group lunch at the company cafeteria Junos cafe.

It wasn't until 6 years ago that you joined the lab team to work along with me that I begin to notice you were a really fun person to work with
all these years at Juniper. and not to mention all the good times spent chilling away from the office especially with all those ticket escalations and users bugging us.

In my years working with you, you have taught me a lot about configuring and troubleshooting various network gears and issues.
You have inspired me to learn how to use command line environment on Juniper, Netscreen, Cisco, HP and other network gears used
in our labs.

I remember you always have a desire to learn new things everyday and take on new challenges and sometimes share those knowledge
to me and the team.

It is really sad and shocking to hear about your departure and things won't be the same in the office. It feels like we are missing a family member in the team. I will definitely miss your happy and always smiling face which also helps me to smile along and relax from the hectic days at work. I'm sure you have put a smile on anyones face. You would remind me to take tea or coffee breaks especially in the morning right before I jump into checking tickets and e-mail.

A lovely poem for a lovely soul.

How To Be a Poet

by Wendell Berry

(to remind myself)

i

Make a place to sit down.

Sit down. Be quiet.

You must depend upon

affection, reading, knowledge,

skill-more of each

than you have-inspiration,

work, growing older, patience,

for patience joins time

to eternity. Any readers

who like your poems,

doubt their judgement.

ii

Breathe with unconditional breath

the unconditioned air.

Shun electric wire.

Communicate slowly. Live

a three-dimensional life;

stay away from screens.

Stay from anything

that obscures the place it is in.

There are no unsacred places;

there are only sacred places

and desecrated places.

iii

Accept what comes from silence.

Make the best you can of it.

Of the little words that come

out of the silence, like prayers

prayed back to the one who prays,

make a poem that does not disturb

the silence from which it came.
