TRIBUTE TO MY BOSOM FRIEND
I had a sudden sharp pang of estrangement, coldness, weakness and depletion of Spirit at the news of your death even though I had seen you and the condition you were at the hospital a day before the cold hands of death severed you from us. You indeed fought death by having a very high spirit that you would recover and live.
You exhibited hope through faith despite the great pains you were undergoing the last minutes of your life. Such a faith I read from the Scripture.
A time like this indeed shows that we have not abandoned ourselves to grief, but that we have not forgotten all that you laboured for and the mark's you left behind in our hearts.
When I moved from the Eastern part of Nigeria to Lagos after graduation as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in 1993 , your outfit ; Malgoz Clinical Laboratory was my first point of call for a job. Although you did not employ me , you encouraged me to be coming around. This coming around you budded into a relationship that blossomed to the extent that we were like blood brothers
You were there for me through thick , thin and never were you irritated. It was really difficult for you to say , no to request from people. You stocked to attending to people's welfare that knocked at your door. At times I would ask myself , so it's possible for someone to be so magnanimous? You were indeed magnanimous and I used to say , you are god in my heart. You were simple in assessing people. Never would you be negative no matter what . You would advance an excuse for someone who exhibits negative behaviour.
You were a counselor, wealth creator, patient in your pursuits. Never wanting to step on toes , upright in your dealings and always coming out clean.
It is said that good people do not last, I am beginning to use you as a case study. Apparently, we cannot question God why He should exit you now.
I know you have indeed graduated from this world into another life.
May God Almighty grant you eternal rest.
Your Bosom Friend,
Zadok Uduma Udo (Okoh)

My sweetest uncle as I fondly called you.its hard to put these words down.but I have no choice but to pen down my feelings . I'm heart broken that you had to go this way. We communicated but you never mentioned to me that you were ill.i kept asking if you were fine and your response was Stop worrying my dear I am okay. You still sounded cheerful .always ready to share one word of advice . I wish you had said something earlier .You are and will always be that stand up guy.always looking out for us.i hold on to your last words " Mercy take care and I love you". Your love for power bikes and Jazz genre of music was impeccable and that's one of the many things we talked about ,We live in the sovereignty of God and can't ask questions This was never the plan but I submit to Gods will and my consolation is the hope of the day of resurrection we will see.life indeed is very brief .this is a bitter pill to swallow. But God knows best.

God be with you till we meet again

TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED UNCLE

Your demise has caused me so much pain. I have wished so much to wake up someday to the news that you are still alive, but I guess that this wish will never come again, but I didn't know you will be traveling to meet your maker in heaven.
I was so happy to see you on Friday night after a long time, and I promised to come and stay with u on Saturday, it was a great shock to me that u went to be with your maker on Saturday, I'm so sorry I didn't keep to my promise before u left, but who am I to question God? You were such a strong man even till death, you never allowed all the pains you were going through to affect your voice. I will always remember hw much you read and how you always encourage me to read too.
I celebrate you even in your rest. Rest in peace till we meet on that glorious morning.
Keep resting in the Lord LION
Adieu uncle Chuks

Uncle Chuks,
it is still like a dream that we are yet to wake up from.
How could you go like that? Is it possible, that, and so many questions keep cropping my mind.
I have resigned everything to Fate. God knows everything. May God grant you rest in His bosom where there is no more pain, no more sorrow.
Rest in peace Brother.

Dear Uncle Chuks, thank you for being a huge part of my life. Many people who were privileged to have known you saw that you were incredibly hardworking, you worked hard until the day you died.
You were my best friend and my favourite person in the world. You are gone now but I choose to be happy because I know you lived a fulfilled life.
I am so blessed to have had you in my life. You would always listen to my stories and you would always teach me things and encourage me to learn, giving me corrections where necessary. I know that these words are not enough to pay tribute to you but what is more important to me is that you are in my heart.

Your niece,
Amarachi Ogala.

His Life

Dcn. (Dr.) CHUKWUNDEWO OGALA (DR. CHUKS).

November 26, 2023

BIRTH AND PARENTAGE:

Dr. Chuks Ogala was born into the family of late Mr. and Mrs. Iheaka Ude Ogalaof Ndeagwu, Amutu, Amaokwe Item in Bende L.G.A. of Abia State on June 9, 1955. According to our father, he named him “ Chukwundewo” (God Thank You) in appreciation to God Almighty for giving him male children – The first being Iheanacho and this the second one.

EDUCATION:

He started his primary school in Jos , Plateu State. At the break of the civil war, he returned to Umuahia where he completed his primary education in Mission Hill Methodist Primary School, Umuahia. He proceeded to Oboro Secodary School for his secondary education which was interrupted by the civil war. When the war ended in 1970, he relocated to Lagos and did his classes three and four before returning to Oboro Secondary School Umuahia to complete his O’level education in June 1973.

In 1977, he moved to the United States of America to further his education. While in the USA, he attended Mt. Saint Mary’s College Emitsburg, Maryland, U.S.A. where he had his Pre-medical Biology. Later on, he relocated to India to further his education. While in India, he attended Mar Ivanos College, University of Kerala, Trivandrum, Kerala State and obtained another degree in commerce (Accounting).

Dr. Chuks, in his deep desire to acquire more knowledge in virtually every sphere of life, returned to Nigeria in 1989 and decided to go back to University of Lagos Teaching Hospital (LUTH) where he qualified as a medical laboratory scientist. He excelled and continued to acquire more academic and professional qualifications until the last day.

He was the Managing Director of Malgoz Clinical Laboratories Limited, Lagos.

SOCIAL LIFE:
He was a very humble and private person. He had such a pleasant and humane personality at first sight such that he would not allow you to leave his presence feeling dejected.

RELIGION:
He was so dedicated to serving the Almighty creator that the church deemed him fit to be anointed a deacon. In fact, two weeks before his death, he confided in me that when he recovers (which, unfortunately, did not happen), he will apply to be assisting our Archbishop in his day to day work.

LAST MILES:
Our brother took ill sometime this year. The doctors, who are specialists in their various fields and we did our best to make sure that he survived but who are we to question God.

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, at about 8.30 am, it pleased the Lord to call him home.

Beloved brother, we love but God loves you most. Sleep on until we meet to part no more.

He is survived by Brothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces and In-laws.

Theo E. Ogala.

For the family.
