Maybe you had an insight......

Ogbuenyi Dad,
The last few days have been tough and very solemn for me. I began to think a lot about our activities between October and November 2021 and concluded that maybe you knew you would be leaving soon......I wish I paid more attention.
The trips to different banks, closing accounts, opening new ones, adding signatories.
Rushing to complete he house at Ezi even when you didn't need to. Telling Mom to pay attention to the things you were saying, even though none of us wanted to hear you talk about death. Talking about where you wanted to be buried when the time comes, the rush to make that trip back to Nigeria.......it is all making sense now.
I am learning to pay attention and think more deeply. Life is so transient......there's no time to hold grudges, keep malice or worry about who likes or doesn't like me. Thank you for letting me serve God and teaching me what it means to be responsible and principled. I miss you Dad, I can't say it enough... Mom misses you, It is so hard to find something that can occupy the vacuum you created but the Holy Spirit is helping us. Words are simply not enough to say everything that I want to say but I love and miss you.
Rest On Dad.....
Your Daughter,

Colossians 2:5
For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.

John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Everyday, every moment.

Wow! Sometimes I ask myself if I am ever going to be ok again. It’s Sunday morning at 1:06 am. My heart breaks at the memory of your passing. Dad, everyday I go to the closet where I have a picture of you hanging and it talk to you; I pour out my heart. You may be absent from the body, but you live on in glory, looking down on us; dancing with the angels before the throne of glory. God bless you dad. For all you did for me, for your sacrifices for us all, thank you. God give us strength to keep forging ahead in Jesus name, amen. Love you, dad. Ogbuenyi sir.

Thinking of you dad

February 17, 2023
I was at work and your thoughts occupied my mind. There is no day that goes by without me thinking about you dad. You are just one of a kind .  You thought me a good work ethic that was second to none. You never hesitated to Lend  helping hands to anyone in need.  I remember you thought us  so much about what it means to be a good person even though it makes you very unpopular.
You may no longer be with us but your memory lives on and the lessons you thought us, we  will always treasure.  We cherish the time that you spent with all of us and especially the attention and love you gave to our mother.  We miss you so much, and especially our mom misses you so much.

A Tribute I made to my Dad on his 78th Birthday

June 3, 2022

My dad turned 78 today, November 15th, 2014. I'm grateful for giving him excellent health in mind and body. I have every reason to believe that he will be with us for a long time yet, and that is my fervent hope. I can say without hesitation that we his children and wife have been deeply blessed by God.It is with no fear of contradiction that I say that whatever I am or may yet become, by a worthwhile human being, I owe foremost to my parents, and to my Dad first as the leader of our family and example of what it means to be a man.
I could say a lot of things in tribute to my father; I lack the ability to do justice in a short piece to all that my father has meant to me. I mention three things.
First, my father is a man of immense integrity. He is a man of his word. I don’t remember Dad ever making a promise which he failed to keep. He is polite and friendly and treats others as he’d want to be treated. He speaks the truth at all times no matter the cost and taught us to do same. My Father is always blunt and says it as it is. I learned what integrity was by watching my father live.
Second, he is a true example of what a husband and father should be. I struggled a bit this morning to get personal pictures of him because in almost all his photographs, my mum was right beside him. My mum is one of the luckiest women I know, as Dad completely honors and adores her till this day. I recall all the times he did school run, taking all 9 of us and bringing us back home from boarding schools and even University. I remember when I practiced how I was going to explain why I got a C grade or a B-! His expectations of us were so high, but not without the right support system.
Third, he is everybody's Dad & Grandpa and always lived by example. From his younger colleagues while he was a lecturer at the tertiary institution to his students, his children's friends, his friend's children, nieces, nephews and in-laws. He demonstrated what it meant to be responsible by the way he took care of his parents before they passed on and the leadership and support shown to his siblings. Today, my siblings and I are responsible towards our nuclear families and parents and even to the extended families. He seeks advice till date even from even the youngest of his children.
He is my Hero, my mentor and my friend and today I wish my Dad a very happy 78th Birthday and many more years of Joy and celebration to come.

WORDS ON MARBLE BY CJC ONYEKWE

May 27, 2022

"if God were to call me home today, I have no regrets; I have lived a fulfilled life"

"It is not how much income you earn that matters, but what you do with the income you earn"

"Someone who earns money and squanders it like a lion eating up a lamb and looking for another game, is bound to be hungry"

“My 6 girls are stronger and more equipped than 100 men”
"My Girls, you should be super-respectful to their husbands, but NOBODY must take you for a ride. You have everything it takes to hold your side. My Boys, take good care of your wives. You all see the way I take care of my wife, right? I can buy her anything so long as it is something money can buy"
"If you pursue any degree, aim for the highest level, no half measures"

"If you are ever financially hard up, you need to let your mother and I know. Money is meant for solving problems."
