Hello, Mitchell Family. My name is Staci and although I didn't have the privilege of knowing Mr. Clifton personally, I want to share my condolences with you. The poem you submitted is beautiful and reminds me of the full life that my father lived before he passed. The line that reads, "My life’s been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch," makes me think of what the Bible says at Ecclesiastes 7: 1, 2. It tells us, "A good name is better than good oil, and the day of death than the day of birth. Better to go to the house of mourning than the house of feasting, for that is the end of every man, and the living should take it to heart." When we are born, we have no story, we've just begun. But when a man dies, he has made his mark and has a story to tell and many good memories to leave for his loved ones. From looking at the pictures of Mr. Clifton, he surely left behind an amazing story and touched the lives of many people. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you. May God's promise of a future life free of pain and death bring you comfort and joy. (Please read Revelation 21:3, 4 and John 5: 28, 29. These scriptures helped me when my father passed.)
