Her Life
April 28, 2019

My Nana Colette was born in Boston and had four sisters Paula, Susan, Joann and Nancy. She lived most of her life in Plymouth, MA. She had two children Scott and Lynn and was in the hospitality industry for most of her career. She worked at Ernies for a family friend and enjoyed many years there.

My Nana loved nice things and even though she didn’t have a lot she always made the most of it. Every garnish on every dish and every fold in her clothing had to be perfect. She really had an eye for detail and it showed. She loved staying up late and watching crime series. One show I enjoyed watching with her when I used to visit as a kid was the Commish. We would stay up late eat junk and watch it together. She also enjoyed having her other two grandchildren Alison and Ryan with whom she was with often. She also loved taking me shopping and visiting with her sisters. I can remember Christmas parties at her sister Susan’s, Halloween parades at aunt Nancy’s and weekend visits to uncle Ronnie and Joann’s. Uncle Ronnie taught me how to play cribbage and it was something I looked forward to every time we went to visit

My nana told it like it was. I never really appreciated or understood it until now that I am older and a little wiser. She was real, hard working and truly cared about her family and friends.

I was fortunate enough to have spent some quality time with her taking her for Christmas to spend with myself and her youngest grandson Jacob and visiting her to bring her to lunch each time somewhere different and she would be so happy she would enjoy the food and time so much. I could tell it meant so much to her. I was happy that I could bring so much joy to her life. Especially since she didn’t have it easy the last few years being sick and in a nursing home. A hot coffee from Dunkin Donuts and something sweet would really  brighten up her whole day and it was the little things that meant the most to her Thank you especially to her sister Nancy for being there for her and taking care of her up until the end

She was a good woman and she will be greatly missed by many. She is now resting peacefully and my wish is that she has been reunited with her parents in heaven.
