His Life

Who Was Cosimo Paul Crimi

March 19, 2013

Cosimo was born on December 12 1957 to Cosimo and Angeline Crimi in Syracuse New York.  He was the baby of three other siblings, Joseph six yrs older, a sister Victoria three yrs older and me Patricia, I am only 11 months older.  He went to Franklin elemenatary for grade school, Grant Jr High, and graduated from Henninger High School in 1976. He recieved his bachelor in Art from the University of D.C.  He dated and had a few sweethearts, but in 1981 he met what he would states later in life, "his soulmate" Dr Ulyssess Connor.  They spent 27 glorious years together.  They moved to Washington D.C. They traveled all over the country.  They had a wonderful life together.  Cos was a strick vegan starting around 18 yrs old. He was a very spiritual man.  He has written several articles some are copywritten with the library of congress.  Just recent he recieved an email from a publishing company interested in his work.  He was very excited and proud.  Unfortuanely in April 2008 his partner of so many years lost his battle with liver cancer which destroyed Cosimo spirit and his life.  He moved back to Syracuse at that time and lived with me. He tried very hard to put his life behind him but could not.  He was broken down and could not be repaired.  In the time he was with us in Syracuse he faced many trials and tribulations. We lost our mother in 2011, our oldest brother past unexpectedly on January 7 2013, he was fighting for five years with attorneys against his partners family, not for monetary purpose but for validation that they were partners. Compound with the fact most of his friends were in D.C, very little job opportunity, feeling afraid and lonely he did not want to face his battles alone.  Those that truely knew him, knew who Cosimo was at his game.  In the last 5 years he had lost the person he was and could not manage to find himself any longer.  He wanted pain for his body and soul to stop and he chose to be free.  He leaves behind his sisters Pat and Vicky, Nephews Joe, Jeremy, Alan, Jonathan, a niece Leigh, great niece Aspen, Payton, Emma, great nephews, Taylor, Ashton, and Anthony, cousins, aunts,  and so many friends from California to New York and Canada to New Mexico.  Thank you for loving him and keeping his memory in your heart and spirt always.
