A Time To Be Born:  On March 7, 1958 was a blessed day when Cubby Lee Blakely was born into the family of the late Thelma Blakely in Birmingham, Alabama.  He was reared by his grandparents, the late Reverend Bester and Carrie Blakely.  He was also preceded in death by two special aunts, Madalene Riggs and Gracie Blakely.
A Time To Accept:  He accepted the teaching of Christ Jesus at an early age.  He was a member of the Spirit and Truth Sanctuary Church.  He graduated from Carver High School in Alabama.  He continued his education at University of Georgia in Leadership and Conflict Resolution.
A Time To Love:  Cubby Blakely met the beautiful JoAnn Godfrey Clark.  They were united in Holy matrimony on April 2, 1999.
A Time To Remember:  When we think of Cubby, many fond memories come to mind.  His radiant smile and laughter his gentle sense of humor and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  He was committed to his wife, son and granddaughters.  His favorite sports teams was the Pittsburg Steelers and the Alabama Crimson Tides.
A Time To Die:  On Wednesday, February 12, 2014, God embraced Cubby in his arms and enfolded him in his love for a peaceful journey home.
