On behalf of Steven Ringelberg COO Vanguard:
Dag Johansen, loving husband of Shehnaz, loving father of four beautiful children – Dana, Sonja, Sean and Dexter, and the devoted protector of cats and dogs, died today, December 6, 2014, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 53.
Originally from California, Dag worked in technology and sales all of his professional life. He had a great laugh, a big heart, a quick mind, and was a very dear friend to many, both within Vanguard and outside. A dedicated representative of Vanguard for eleven years, he was passionate about what he did, believed in the company, its mission, and its people, and he was a very important part of us. While he has been out sick in recent weeks, I have spoken with many of the customers Dag worked with throughout the United States, all of whom expressed deep sympathy and concern and care for their friend and business partner.
Dag thoroughly embraced his life in Summerlin, Nevada, and would tell anyone who listened that it was the best neighborhood in the Las Vegas Valley, if not the United States. He enthusiastically came into work every day, enjoyed engaging with customers, but what he loved the most was going home at the end of the day to spend time with his family. He was a very good friend, a trusted friend, I will miss him very much, and I know those of you who know him will miss him very much as well.
“Never look down to test the ground before taking your next step; only he who keeps his eye fixed on the far horizon will find the right road.” Dag Hammarskjold, Swedish Diplomat, 2nd Secretary General of the UN (and youngest), Nobel Peace Prize Recipient, died on peace mission as Secretary General at age 55.
