Her Life

Lafayette to Kingwood in 1988

June 11, 2018

Danielle was a light to us, as a young couple to have a spirit like D as a first child was.. well it was a learning experience in parenting. She always wanted to be on the move and couldn't wait to get into Kindergarten, she spent a short time in school in Lafayette and then we transitioned to Kingwood during Christmas break at the end of 1988. Leaving Lafayette and her wonderful (and I mean wonderful in the fullest sense) family was hard but she quickly got started in her new surroundings (Greentree Elementary). She had wonderful teachers that pushed her to both focus on learning as well as dream, I am so happy that Dana and I made the choice to set roots in the Kingwood area. She loved to participate in ANY school function and I remember going to many events at Greentree (she especially loved the Fall festival and not a chance could we miss that). What could I say of all the wonderful times she had during this season of her life, her school and church involvement formed her view of the world that propelled her with joy and happiness until the end of her life. Surely I am brushing over lots of happenings so I will leave that to be filled in by her family and friends.

Kingwood - what an awesome place

May 1, 2020
What an awesome place - Danielle had so many wonderful friends, it really is a blessing for these friendships and how all these intertwine and continue as we progress our individual journeys. Get / obtain lasting friendships, the ones that are solid and based on love. The memory of these can both inspire, encourage and bring peace into your life. Strive to be a good friend it will be with you forever.

Ok, I want to profile Danielle's friends and some of the stores that they share, but I don't remember all the names - (give me some time and I will track these down with Dana, Lauren and Aaron's help) what i do know was that Danielle's adolescent years could not have been more well spent.

Thank YOU to the many families that treated all the kids with love, agreeing to parties, dealing with sports, cheer, dance activities, have the pack camp out on the couch and clean out next weeks groceries. I so value now the time that they had growing up in such a wonderful area.....

Thank YOU to the many friends that supported Danielle through these years, I know that there were "cliques" and "phases" and most of you were learning how to interact within a rapidly changing world - those years may seem like a blur and even now may not be recognized with the lasting value that these interactions have within your life and family.

More to come - when i get the stories...... D Baby - I greatly miss you .. Dad

Danielle "Loved" the Crawfish

May 1, 2020
Danielle really loved and was excited anytime there was a "crawfish boil" - these started for her early in life. In South Louisiana these were "events" with family and friends that enabled interaction, fellowship and bonding with the most important people in our lives.

I have memory of her at 3 or 4 with Lauren, Sidney and Chase playing while Uncle Charlie (she loved her uncle charlie) would so effortlessly push out some of best tasting food you will ever have. Also the many fish fry's we all shared as a family at Poppas camp as example - to some its just a good meal (and a lot of work to prepare) but to Danielle it was an event where she could interact and be her talkative self.... (we all know Danielle could talk...)  looking back now - she was at peace and with the people she cared about.

It was in this backdrop that she was introduced to the many wonderful family "cooking" events that we shared during her youth. Her lifelong excitement about these wasn't just her love for the food but it was the essence of family and the peace that this assurance embeds when you gaze out into a fast paced world where all things just don't make sense.

Danielle loved these times (and there were many) until the end of her life, i am so blessed to be a part of some of these with her.

Ohhhh did i mention that Danielle could sit and eat for hours..... not sure where it all went but she loved sitting around that table....

We all miss you Danielle Renee, remind Jesus please that we need horseradish and that Cajun Power sauce for our homecoming.

Grace and Peace multiplied unto you... Dad
