Brief Obituary

Dave was the son of James Glen and Eleanor Sargent McAdams of Burlington, NC, and brother to James Glen Jr. (deceased), James Richard (Rick), and Robert Michael (Mike).  He attended Mars Hill College and Oberlin Conservatory and graduated from UNC and Columbia University. 

Dave served in the WWII liberation of Europe with the 400th Armored Artillery; was awarded 5 battle stars and the Purple Heart.

He was a music educator, violinist, and health care systems salesman for Standard Register in Raleigh, Greensboro and Wilmington. Dave was devoted to his family, Scouting, and church. He delighted many with his violin playing, and played excellent tennis.

Surviving are wife and best friend of 64 years, Dorothy Page McAdams; children David McAdams Jr. (Duff) and wife Alice Ragland (Raleigh); Dr. Holman Page McAdams and wife Emma (Durham); Eleanor Howard McAdams (Ellen) (Raleigh); grand-daughters Lindsey McAdams-Perry (Wake Forest), Lauren Brennan (Cary), Emily and Sarah McAdams (Durham) and Leslie McAdams Brouwer (Columbus, OH); great-grandchildren Summer, Luke and Savannah.
