Happy Heavenly birthday Dee you are truly missed my friend. I had the opportunity to meet Dee and Maria in 1983 during the Sassoon tour with Elton. I was his personal limo driver during this time. Dee and Maria were some of the nicest people you could ever want to meet.
I saw Dee live one time with Alice Cooper in 1977, what an awesome performance. I have listened to his playing since the early 70's and it has always inspired me as a bass player and I just found out that although 18 years differance we share the same birthday, what an honor that is and Dee WILL always be a part of my yearly celibration of life. God Bless You for what You gave us my brother.
My God Dee. You have to know that you were the Best at what you did. Not only with Elton but with your smile and your voice and the talent that the God giving hands of the Lord gave you. It was all magic and with out you it would never have happened. Rest easy Dee your soul will never be forgotten, and your talent forever missed.
I remember watching Elton's Step into Christmas music video hundreds of times and when I saw him enjoying himself and I also saw him with a big smile on his face and that made me laugh and smile too.He was such a wonderful person and it makes me very sad to see that he's not around anymore to give me his wonderful smile and his great sense of humor.I love you and I miss you Dee Murray.May you,Guy Babylon and Bob Birch rest peacefully and I will see you in heaven someday soon.I also know that Elton John and his fans miss you too. Thanks for everything that you did for Elton John and for your fans too.
Dee,the greatest bass player in the Elton John Band. I got to see Dee in concert with Elton many times in the early years. His unique playing style and the sound he gave the band, will never be replaced. Rest In Peace my friend.

Dear Dee, you will always be the best bass player that Elton John´s Band ever had... The world is not the same without you... Every note of your bass touched my soul with sweet rhythm and melody too... I listen to your music and I get high in the sky... I remember your face and your way to be as a human being, standing there, next to Elton, and I cry in emotion and gratefulness for all the love you gave to us... Peace and Love to you, now you dream the dream to be awake by God in Resurrection Day... Thank you Dee!... You will always be in our hearts... Thank you boy!... From Montevideo, Uruguay, with love, Uruguay Salvador Catalogne Magdaleno.
Elton, Davey, Nigel and Dee.......that's the band I fell in love with so long ago. It's just not quite the same without you. Respected and adored by millions who will never forget you. Thoughts and prayers for your children. Eternal peace to you.
This is Benny from Nashville, Tn. I was leaving Maria a message on Dee's memorial page and discovered that Maria had passed. I drove limo for Dee and Maria around during the Sasoon tour in the 80's. I will never forget how nice they were to me during that time. I think about them quite often. God Bless both of them and their family's.
