Rocío Delfina Ochoa (Priego) de Little, formerly of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully at her nursing home in Cancún, Quintana Roo, México on August 7th, 2017. Born on March 11th, 1932 in Villahermosa city, Tabasco, México, Delfina was the second of the three daughters of Kruger Ochoa Riquelme and Maria Priego de Ochoa. She was married to Benjamin Little Smith from Ireland, UK, who preceded her in death. She met Bennie when she took his taxi cab in London, England. Bennie was besotted by her appearance and traced her all the way to Mexico, where he proposed to her. Delfina lived in the United states for many years- in New York and Daytona Beach with her husband, and Tampa. A culinary artist by trade, Delfina delighted diners at various Tampa locations including Armani’s and the Marriott. She was also very involved with her church, North Tampa Unity. She is survived by her sister Magaly Ochoa Priego, 8 nieces and nephews, and 7 grand nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held this Sunday, August 20, at 3pm, at North Tampa Unity, 13540 N. Florida Ave #107, Tampa, FL 33613. In lieu of flowers, family are making donations to North Tampa Unity.

Dear Buela,

I remember your citizenship day, and I remember going to Hibachi Grill with you. It was a nice memory. I don't remember much more about you because I was very little when you went to Mexico. But we miss you.

Love,
Sagan

Delfina is a Founding member of our ministry, Unity North Tampa. She was such a great support for me and the ministry. She attended faithfully and always had smiles and hugs for everyone. She would often bring me supper before the Wednesday night Prayer Service. She also gave me plants for my garden, among the many kindnesses she did. We enjoyed a dear friendship, helping each other. I feel her spirit at times and know we'll continue to be connected. I love you very much, Bright Light. I know you're shining as bright as ever, and will always be a part of my life.

I had known Delfina from staying with her and Benny in Queens, New York back in 1970 for a few months & kept in contact every since, in that time I have had the pleasure of meeting friends & many family of her's during my travels.

We have lost a dear, sweet, kind lady who lit up so many peoples lives with her kindness, sense of fun along with compassion.

I have so many happy memories with friends and family that bring so many smiles & a few tears having lost this wonderful lady, her light may have gone out, but for so many of us the flicker still remains.

R.I.P. The pleasure has been ours having had the joy of knowing her.
